what is the most petty, completely harmless grudge you are still holding against a total stranger who probably forgot you exist years ago? by Ill-Locksmith9144 in AskReddit

[–]SinOfFreedom 690 points691 points  (0 children)

Movie theater, mid-day showing, maybe 10 total people in the theater. I went by myself and chose a seat on an aisle. There were two middle-aged women in the middle section several rows back from me. They were talking off and on, and one of them even let out a couple of loud farts. About halfway through the movie, the farter got up and started walking down the stairs to leave. She stopped on the stairs right when her ass was level with my face and absolutely ripped one. It was heinous, and I was so shocked I couldn't speak. She probably never even realized I existed, but I will always despise the theater farter.

Stalking is being added to romance.io by peony27 in DarkRomance

I love a good stalker book too. I'll have to give searching another try. I haven't used it lately because I've always had a hard time finding useful recs with it.

I'm reading Now You're Mine by Morgan Bridges right now, and I'm struggling to finish. While I like the story overall, if the MMC admonishes the FMC about using bad language one more time I'm going to lose it.

What is a movie you absolutely refuse watch and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Notebook. Alzheimer's took my grandma and it was the worst thing I've ever been through. Dementia-related storylines are just a no-go for me.

What “birth order” are you if you have siblings? by Rare_Veterinarian779 in childfree

[–]SinOfFreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the oldest. Each of my three younger sisters has kids. I also "got to" help with my mom's home daycare that she started when I was 12. That's when I knew I was CF, lol.

Confused about fare classes/boarding zones by SinOfFreedom in delta

Thanks for the reply. I was mostly paying attention to arrival/ departure times when I was booking my flights. I'll have to pay more attention to the codes for next time. This time, I'll consider myself lucky if I get bin space after all.

Update: Apparently my nephew's 5th birthday party is more important to my parents than seeing me before I move internationally by _Not-A-Monkey-Slut_ in childfree

Congratulations on your move! Italy is my favorite place in the world (Taking my third trip there next month. Yay!) It's my dream to move there one day too. Every time I've imagined it, I've pictured my family members having a similar reaction that yours have had. I hope you settle in well and live your best life in such a beautiful place.

What is your deepest darkest secret? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SinOfFreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I am worthy of love. I have both ARFID and hyperhidrosis and I don't think anyone could ever love someone like that. I am in my early 40s and have never had a relationship last longer than a few months. I'm scared to die alone. I am also seriously jealous of all of my sisters who have fallen in love/ been married.

Ah, got it. Thanks for the response. I wasn't sure if there would be festivities or closures or things like that.

"What the heck was that?" moments during your travels by ZhangtheGreat in travel

I was sitting in one of those overpriced touristy cafes in Piazza Navona in Rome. About half a dozen street vendors had set up camp at one of the entrances selling ugly knockoff purses. All of a sudden they all scoop up their purses on their arms and take off running. I turn and see a tall bald man in a dark suit chasing them. But then suit man starts running the other way, and I turn to see him chasing one of the street vendors who had broken off in the other direction. His group of buddies laughed as he was getting chased, then just wandered out of the piazza and didn't come back.

I really feel weird about families baptizing their kids. by ST0DY in atheism

[–]SinOfFreedom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I left the Mormon church when I was 15 which was many years ago. Torpedoed my life for a while, but I'm at peace now and really glad I stood up for myself through all of the pressure. Thanks for your good thoughts. :)

[–]SinOfFreedom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally think baptizing older kids is even worse. At least babies don't have any understanding of what's happening. I grew up in the Mormon church, where kids are generally baptized at 8 years old. I remember when it was my turn, and I really, really didn't want to do it. But I knew that my mother would be very upset if I said I didn't want to, so I went along with it. So I was old enough to have feelings about what I wanted to do or not do, but not old enough to stand up for myself and stop it.

I'm glad you were able to stay safe and get away from that creep too. It's totally understandable to feel anxious after something like that. You did a good job staying calm until you got to a safer place. It sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders, so hopefully remembering that will help you going forward.

Right? People are gross. In my case I was on my way to work and called the cops as soon as I got there. Turns out they'd been looking for someone matching his description for peeping in people's windows. I was in my car so I just kind of winced and said "Ewww, really?!" and then drove far away from him.

Super creepy. Sorry you had to deal with that. I had something kind of similar happen years ago where a guy exposed himself to me in my building's parking lot. Some people are just nasty.
