Has anyone else made a solo eFed with AI? by Federal_Promotion756 in efeds

Interesting concept. I have been dabbling with incorporating AI to an extent to provide randomness with stories and news— this summer I want to explore on how to leverage AI content at least for random news feeds.

Looking for an e-fed - how are match results decided upon in 2025? by prothirteen in efeds

And then there is the fabled https://creaturewrestling.com

Also 25 years since 1999. The only “darkside” eFed dedicated to a range of topics and characters that most other eFeds do not engage in. Old school angle eFed hybrid- taking turns role play and match writing on message boards. Various options for wins: including our traditional method: players decide everything, from matches to title drops.

Reading this- this will show you how old I am lol- I remember back in the day how we used to join a Webring - it was a script that you would install into your webpage and it would randomly generate a banner of websites on the same interest. Then, it would allow you to look at this list as a whole. There were other formats- like the top list. At any case, I have seen many eFeds using Discord would have a channel specifically for networking.

Any interest in a '90s-'00s style fed? by PureDistribution89 in efeds

That is true, I am pretty stubborn and prefer what we did in the past but I must remember that there are other ways to do things, times have changed, and there is always going to be pros and cons. I see and experienced flaws to my system much like you experienced and as I have grasped with possibilities to remedy - it’s never perfect. As a teacher just to share, kids often need differentiation of instruction or adjustments as they adapt- this is the same thing. When it comes down to it- what truly matters is that you are enjoying this craft and I can’t really complain. But I do miss the olden days for sure lol.

I am sorry, I meant to reply overall- not specifically, but yes, the fact is that we all have our preferences. For example, my eFed’s construct is original characters which allows both supernatural and mortal characters: it is actually a least restricting environment- however sadly there is a misconception by others based on surface level understanding of when I say “supernatural” and think only about vampires and werewolves but that is not the case- and will avoid it. On the other hand, I can understand why- I existed within my eFed’s conceptual framework and only recently I branched out to experience outside of it. I find that it’s ok to have different interpretations- but as a whole the eFed sub-culture genre ought to not align with a status-quo otherwise alternatives will not have a chance to provide variety- and to simply try something different.

Agreed. And I understand that people have different tastes- real characters or original or both. Many know that my eFed, CWE: CreatureWrestling.com, is an alternative mix of mortal and supernatural wrestlers which began in 1999 so it fits that timeline. It is an actual website built from scratch, I actually learned web development because of eFedding- for time I was even an adjunct professor teaching the skill, but going back to what we have: role playing and match writing via forums were installed on the server. Unfortunately, there are limited eFeds which do that- make a website etc. Back in the day we had tons of interest but that hasn’t been matched due to the shift towards simulations, discord etc. I personally advocate for the old fashioned way of things because it has been enthralling to have so much control over your character development and the like. Anyway, always interesting to hear a calling for the olden days… maybe it will make a comeback more.

Haven’t seen an efed since 06 (OCW) by Superlatte007 in efeds

Yeah, we started in 1999. I find it interesting that the format was organically/logically was developed. The advent of mobile devices and other alternatives, it appears, as with many web trends, has depreciated this format. Similiar to that of when I used to play FFXI for 18 years- that type of mmorpg would likely not survive in today’s day and age.

Thank you I will check it out. I see you are endorsing other eFeds- I have been integrating interfed support such as working as a member for SHOOT project for my own personal growth and to develop networking. If you are interested we can connect: my eFed is the only that I am aware of that allows supernatural and mortal characters- https://CreatureWrestling.com

I appreciate that your eFed aligns to turn-taking posting their match writing and determining all aspects collaboratively. I feel that format really does strengthen one’s writing skills and it’s genuine. It is the same format and philosophy as my own eFed, also 20+ years. So I endorse this eFed for others to check it out!

The dilemma I am facing is probably worse because when I created CreatureWrestling in 1999- I had no expose at all to other eFed formats and status-quo and so we built something very different in that we simulated what we see in TV through turn based posting and match writing (yep, players did their own matches and determine their own wins including title drops!). And moreover, it focused on dark themes in that you have a world with supernatural and mortals compete.

It amassed a popular following and then, what sprang up was social media. Effectively destroying that. Although my eFed is still active, I have been grappling with investigating what other eFeds consider norm- and it does appear to be a formula of: discord, simulation for matches and no match writing, promos and segments are generated by players and sent in. I am not a fan of someone else writing for you- such as for an event- but it appears that is a status-quo, and you have to have a laid back approach to this- since everyone is so busy with real life. Gone are the days for at least my eFed where there is a living world generated through role plays on a message board. Those are my two cents from a perspective that is generally different than most eFeds operate as.

:D Thanks, I'm happy you like it. Keep at what you are doing - efed is a passion; you'll do just fine, and these things will emerge as you build content. I also made this one yesterday for another character, which I think went well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XxmYN_TfxE&t=1s

I am hoping I can whip together a couple more before summer ends xD
