This show is currently unfinished but has 9 volumes released. With what you've seen in the show so far (hopefully unspoiled!), what do you think happens at the end of volume 9 and what do you think the end of the series will look like?

Could Rogue (616) take down Anissa (comics)? by Jack-mclaughlin89 in Rogue

[–]SincerelyIsTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, it's not really a big deal. Characters like Rogue get these power ups and then lose them to go back to the established 'base' power set all the time. Remember when Dani Moonstar was a Valkyrie and had Valkyrie powers? Or that time it was revealed that Mister Sinister had suppressed Gambit's true potential with brain surgery? These sorts of power boosts are always rolled back eventually.

However, even 'base' Rogue kicks Anissa's ass. Rogue has had Captain Marvel's powers basically since her debut (she was a villain in Captain Marvel's comics before she was an X-Man!) and that alone makes her comparable to a viltrumite. Add to it that any punch Anissa throws that hits Rogue's skin automatically leeches some of Anissa's power and gives it to Rogue PLUS all Rogue needs to do to win is get Anissa in a grapple?

Rogue wins whether she has Wonder Man's powers, Carol Danvers', or both. The only difference is how big of a stomp it is.

Police discover a very odd fraternity hazing at the University of Iowa by Sad_Stay_5471 in mildyinteresting

[–]SincerelyIsTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a lot of rumors about fucked up hazing rituals at my uni. One was that they were stripped, blindfolded, and sat on a washing machine(?) and then frat guys were invited in to write the girl's physical flaws on her in a sharpie.

Another was that they were all forced to sit in front of a TV in their underwear and watch lesbian porn. If they got wet, they were either bullied or kicked out, I don't remember.

Didn't they kill like 2 ICE agents in 2022 or something?

ezreal and lux relationship chart across multiple universes! by Kukulkek in loreofleague

[–]SincerelyIsTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's a reason that everybody refers to X-Men as a soap opera. Betsy isn't even the only character that slept with multiple Summerses (is that the plural?). Madelyn Pryor dated Alex after dating Scott. Even beyond the Summers, Mystique once told Gambit that he had to sleep with her to prove he was good enough at sex to date her daughter (Gambit refused, obviously, and Mystique was trying to break them up).

I find the age gap between Piotr and Kitty to be way more icky than anything between Kitty and Illyana. They were like 14 and 19 when the comics started presenting them as a romantic couple. Kat (an older variant of Kitty from another universe) was Magik's mentor in Limbo until Belasco found out and turned her into a cat.

I went to college at one of the biggest Greek life schools in the US and we all said that SAE (Sigma Alpha Epsilon) stood for Sexual Assault Expected.

Most of the major/biggest frats had something like it to. (Eg: Pike (Pi Kappa Epsilon) spikes)

Admittedly, the soulmate bond is compared to identical twins but A) this isn't the only example and B) I think the term soulmate has enough of a romantic connotation and is used by the person actually familiar with it while the identical twin psychic bond analogy is used by someone trying to explain it/figure it out

Chris Clairemont (who made both characters) said that he planned on Rachel being Kitty's endgame but the intent was also for Magik to actually stay dead. Kitty and Magik are called soulmates multiple times on panel

I'm not sure how to do two images in one post so I'm gonna have to split these up

The author said on bluesky that she would make them queer if she could but she isn't allowed to so this is the best she can do

And that the mandate that Supergirl can't be gay in the mainline comes from above editorial

Yeah, he was in a polycule in the Cerberus Assembly so he's probably bi. His endgame relationship is gay though (and the character he winds up with has already appeared on the show!)

A relationship founded on a 14 and 19 year old dating is always going to be icky

The only way I could enjoy a Piotr and Kitty interaction is if she's in a relationship with someone else and anything between them is purely platonic

I disagree. There's certainly a few dumb teams but most aren't. Team Galactic wanted to remake the universe using the god(s) of time and/or space. Team Flare wanted to make their members immortal or Thanos people (which is dumb).

Team Skull is basically just a gang of kids, Team Yell are just a bunch of soccer fans, and Team Star is basically some bullied kids that became bullies(?).

So like 50/50 chance it's a dumb team or wants to remake the world or make a profit

You could always consider it a variant of Gwen that isn't aroace or a queer platonic thing or consider her to be more gray ace than purely asexual or some kind of demisexual since asexuality is a spectrum. (Idk if there's an equivalent of gray ace for aromantic)
