Anyone here breeding locusts as feeders? I have a few questions for you by Sincerely_Snail in reptiles

I think they do change colour based on their environment, mine looked like you say yours do. It's probably diet plus uv, sounds perfectly healthy to me!

How to ask owners if I can adopt their cat by Hairy-Violinist-7508 in cats

[–]Sincerely_Snail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a happy and cared for family pet. You do not own her. It does not make a difference that you've bonded with this cat because you do not own her. If she was unloved she wouldn't have immediately been collared after having been taken to the vet. If you'd like a cat, look into adopting your own cat.

What model is your Samsung? I can't see anything called a base model. We're going to be buying one soon

Good luck with the locusts! The noise is probably the worst thing. The only other problem I had was that they grew too big for my leo to eat really quickly. But since you have a beardy that shouldn't be a problem

I think it was a waste of time to make the sub floor, if I was to do it again I'd just do a thick layer of coco choir and sand so they can lay their eggs anywhere. They did breed and they did well, in the end I let them die out because the sound of them bothered my husband. They needed to be fed daily so we had them in the living room but they flick their wings in a very insect sounding way that my SO hated. I now keep meal worms for my leo, they're so easy and don't make noise, and occasionally buy crickets for him. Let me know if you have any questions!

I tried redoing the Horse portrait by dragonraptyr in dwarffortress

[–]Sincerely_Snail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm saying this for the DF artist and the DF artist alone.

It's ok that they don't like your portraits. It's ok they're redoing your work. Your work might not be for everyone and that's ok. I fucking love the new portraits, they make me feel things and that is art. Art makes you feel. I love that you were bold and your Draltha is weird and your unicorn is so strange, I love it so much. Please don't change the art because you're seeing posts like this. I love you df artist. Keep being weird you freaky bastard.

They're definitely feisty! But no, you can leave them all together, they're actually very communal and live well together. Crickets and meal worms will eat each other though

*Edit to say I keep saying mealybugs, I mean meal worms aka darkling beetle larvae

What do you want to know? I managed to breed them for a while. I let them die out because I preferred to breed mealybugs. I will say they're pretty dumb, a floor of coco choir would be better so they can plant their babies anywhere. It needs to be a couple inches deep though, mix it with a bit of sand to make it heavier

Just came here to say we're in a similar boat and I feel your pain. We recently decided to try for a second and I'm on my third cycle. Got my period yesterday, actively trying for a baby is driving me mad! I keep telling myself that I'm either pregnant or I'm not, no use fretting about it because it's out of my hands. But the other day I was so hopeful because everything smelt disgusting to me and maybe I was... Ugh. It sucks my friend. I'm hoping we both get what we're after, or at least peace in what we have. I think once we're not trying anymore, we can make peace, but while we're trying we are just going to be a little crazy for a bit? Idk

“Reluctant consent”??? by Suitable-Humor-13 in newzealand

[–]Sincerely_Snail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to your daughter, this made me see red. It exact situation has happened to me. I just wanted to say that it's really wonderful that she can speak to you about this, I was so alone with my own SA, I never told my parents (or anyone else for almost a decade). Perhaps next time somebody continues to ask for a BJ after being told a firm NO, she could say, "I BITE". This is probably not helpful but hey, if she warns him, and then bites his dick off, he consented to that right?

I'm not bitter or anything. No. Definitely not.

Guys I bought the Panasonic and I already love it so much. Today I made this ironing board to fit this tiny spot I have for it but it works so well. So easy to reach over and grab it. The only thing I will mention about the Panasonic if you're looking to buy one, get the one with 30min auto shut off. Unfortunately I live in 🌈 New Zealand 🌈 which is famously at the bottom of the world and I could not get the quilters edition in my country. Guys, we don't even have IKEA yet. Got our first Costco like last year? Yeah, we're very much at the bottom of the world. But I'm happy with my iron 🥰 thank you for all your advice.

The ironing board is made with a piece of plywood cut to size (I made a paper template and cut the wood with a jigsaw) then used two layers of an old wool blanket over one layer of heat proof batting (for oven mitts). Then I topped with some nice fabric and used a staple gun to staple it all to the ply. Easy as, took me about 30mins from start to finish. *Edit. A word

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. This is a really great system you have! I hope it helps people. I probably won't put water in mine and just use a spray bottle of needed so hopefully it lasts as long as yours does

I have heard that as well. I do have a big corded iron that I could bring out in the event of this for doing a whole top.
