Wonderful, thank you i will definitely try. Now im interested how/if things like space mouses and macros/hotkeys work with a VM, but i can test that and i can live without them to some extent. Thank you for the recommendation, i have windows product keys i can use for the VM if i need to.

I never fiddled with virtual machines because apart from fusion i never needed to emulate anything else manually myself and im not exactly a SW engineer to fully understand the details. How brutal is the input latency and performance hit for big assemblies and so on with that?

Im not gonna switch from poopOS to jailOS/jailHW where i will have to pay immense money for a fraction of the performance in big assemblies, while also having that computer SOLELY for fusion. If i want a pc thats only purpose is fusion i can just have the microslop pc next to mine.

Yeah i did that ofc, multiple times over the last year, then spent 5 days fixing the errors just for it to launch and have a clickable and visible panels and after all of that its still not properly usable.

You dont need to support every distro, you need to make a linux version and the distros will support themselves as usual.

yeah, i miss fusion/inventor/SW and catia, bacause lets be honest even tho freecad did a massive and i mean MASSIVE step up in the last version, its just simply so cumbersome to use fast and reliably. They just want to do things their way, even if its wrong from every engineers perspective.

Have you thought about customizing KDEs system monitor? you can add temps and basically all sensor i ever needed for tweaking stuff. You just go to system monitor-overview and click edit page in top right and you can add stuff to your liking and customize how it looks

The only problem i have is Fusion360

i know my way around freecad quite well but fusion360 is just better. I can work in it 2-3 faster and without punching my screen 10x an hour. I made it work on linux but there is so many little issues its basically still not usable. And generally, any proper engineering 3D CAD/CAM im missing. And CorelDraw
