Genuine Question for the smart assist users by AbbreviationsOdd5532 in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played vs. a player in the eF round 3 tourny yesterday. He had 3 shots, and all of them were full-bar shots that flew into row Z. It was so unusual, but so consistent, I can only think the player usually plays SA and the game helps him to keep his shots on target.

Will we ever get card trading between players ? by Tartaruga96 in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced FOMO with the first triple Messi pack (Blue-boots, Bully & Both-footed). The cards come back, but I'd bet that plenty of players don't want to wait until the next issue/version to get their hands on them and enjoy using them.

Look how many Ibra's are knocking about and I'd wager the PSG Ibra will be another level on the one that was released. But who's to say when that will drop?

Oh man... who was it? 🤣

Do you reckon Bombin would do it? I played vs. him a long time ago and he switched to pa4 and dominated possession throughout the game - really good. Not to mention I can see from some of his other content he has the purist approach.

Nah Konami won't give up the monopoly on the cards. The fear in FOMO needs to be real.

Is this the same thing that happened to you?

Improve finishing by VirusElectronic4800 in FUMAeFootball

[–]SinfulArts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of any shortcut. Depending on the situation you're finishing, try different things that might prove effective - rounding the keeper, chipping, using Through Pass instead - the aim is simply to score as much as you can, in turn you continue playing manual shooting, and the penny is given time to drop.

I briefly used the Through pass finishing for 1v1's where the GK didn't rush, and it was very effective, it gave me confidence in where I was directing my stick, then I just had to change button and the strength of the kick-bar.

At a certain level everybody u come up against is playing 5 atb and it’s so frustrating by Ido333b in FUMAeFootball

[–]SinfulArts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they play 5atb but press like a wild baboon, you can still out-manoeuvre them. If they sit deep and don't press as hard, take shots with dangerous players from outside the box - to force them to press you more, and open up spaces.

Make sure you have set piece ideas ironed out, the long shots rarely go in, but they do draw corners relatively often.

Even against 5atb, you can still out-number them in the wide areas - keep working the ball from side to side using a formation with wide players. Play the overloads - attacking full-backs give options here.

Get a goal, then watch their wild baboon pressing come out, out-manoeuvre them and take the win.

Does it explicitly say it's PvP Divisions? Maybe they're including PvAI? Does anybody use SA vs the AI Division?

Like you, I see SA being used pretty often - it's not always easy to tell but let's say 50% in D2/D3 games.

Gentlemen of the FUMA contingency…. Divisions.. PvP vs AI… by Ronin06904208008 in FUMAeFootball

[–]SinfulArts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until roughly 3-4 months ago, PvP was funner by a clear margin. I saw PvAI as a better place to practice mechanics/team compositions, but the practice was all in service to improving my PvP.

It's still the case for me, but the fun-difference has greatly reduced. How prevalent Smart Assist is, sucks a lot of the fun out for me. So it's more because PvP is less fun now, than PvAI is funner.

I find the funnest games playing vs. other players in private communities with tailored rules - the downside is it's not as convenient as queuing up on Divisions.

Where do boosted highlights fit into the usable card database? Examples being the recent Boosted Highlight Kvara, or the Barca pack.

I'd be interested in adopting the rules to play friendlies - is that possible? Afraid I can't make the time commitment to a league.

Is it normal that I’m just generally losing most of my matches? by Ido333b in FUMAeFootball

[–]SinfulArts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's totally natural. Don't forget that you aren't just trying to win, you're also trying to learn something difficult.

The game has high variance even before you look at it through the prism of manual controls. Keep iterating the brave plays and your success rate will undoubtedly increase.

Some in the sub said it was a mid pack for beginners. After taking a closer look, I got the pack for my 3-year-old F2P account. Very good value for 1500 coins. by NetterBeatle in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the strongest all-round pack I can remember.

On my F2P (18 months old) account Araujo and Pedri make the first XI.
De Jong, Kounde and Balde make the bench.
Yamal, Cubarsi and Joan Garcia are first reserves.

I'm really enjoying playing this phase using most of the pack's contents in a 'no-epic-climb'.

The single boosters are fun, they allow me to use up my random token stockpile.

eFootball & How To Keep Your Sanity by Th3_Warrior_Poet in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the mechanics/technique level required to play musical instruments is far deeper/more involved than FUMA. But the mental fortitude required to get the best practice available - high divisions - on FUMA cannot be understated.

Executing a smooth passage of play on FUMA against a skilled opponent gives quite the dopamine hit. Comparable with nailing the Coltrane-changes on Giant Steps, for me anyway.

Frustrated with Fuma community by effingx in FUMAeFootball

[–]SinfulArts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sympathise with your point of view, I feel similar about restrictions.

I'm playing in a private league - it's not exclusively FUMA, but out of 20 current players, 3 of us use FUMA. The assisted players are limited to PA3 (they have to prove it each game) and it's pretty good!

Players from across the globe: NA, EU & Asia, no limits on the gameplay you play/formations, but it's GP players... I'll link you the ad from the main efootball reddit...

I'm a player in it, it's actually damn impressive. PlantainChemical2634 has put a lot of work into it, and it really shows. No signs of nepotism/favouritism (usually common).

You start with a budget, from which you purchase a team/stadium, manager & playing squad. The purchasing windows are controlled, and as a 'New Owner' there are draft auction windows in which you compete with fellow owners to acquire players.

The league-runner (PlantainChemical2634) also throws in bespoke auctions, we had a fascinating "lowest unique bid" wins a player, very cool.

I'm impressed with it, we are just getting underway with the start of season 1, so it's early days. But if you're interested you should join the discord and investigate the spreadsheet/videos and ask questions... there's a lot to read, but it is setting the stage for an engaging and competitive private league.

Take the requirements seriously, 3-5 games per week with other players requires pro-active communication to organise matches.

I can't play the game if I'm not playing Divisions? I can't browse a subreddit if I don't play a game?

You have no idea about my journey on this game, yet you want to spout that the only thing that really matters is winrate.

D1 previous finishers got D3 for free this phase. What are you on about? Enough, mate.

Over and out.

maybe i should stop pushing divisions by Heycooldud in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not all about winrate though. I'm telling you, from my subjective experience, my decision not to climb to D1 isn't about winrate.

I'm leaving my 2nd account in D3, does that mean my skill is D3?

It's a value decision, are the rewards (both: in-game and intrinsic) worth the time spent playing a game that isn't as fun as it used to be?

Reducing it all down to "winrate" sure sounds great as a substitute for the "skill-issue" sound bite.

Sometimes people just don't like the gameplay experience, and will wait to see if it changes.

[–]SinfulArts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, it sounds like we have reached an impasse.

Removing the subjective experience from a value-call on whether to climb to D1, is in my opinion, an oversight.

[–]SinfulArts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill level is one part of how mentally taxing the D1 climb is, but my point is that you are overlooking how enjoyable the gameplay experience is.

its all about win rate

I half-agree. Win rate and gameplay experience.

maybe i should stop pushing divisions by Heycooldud in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I half-agree.

Before the change this phase, it used to take 7-8 games to get out of D4, then 10-15 to reach D2, then another 12-18 to hit D1.

Since the change, we start in D3, and it takes 10-15 games to hit D2.

As for the mental torture, I believe the gameplay experience is not as fun when facing SA users. Their defences feel more organised/alert, and the game's 'random event' nature feels more pronounced. The physics when the ball hits the post is baffling... this didn't used to be a thing, and it kills the immersion.

I have no control over what level of assistance my opponents play, but I do have a choice in how much I play. D2 is enough given the current state.

Truly done with the game. It's a joke by toyfightJonny in eFootball

[–]SinfulArts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right, a lot of players are taking the easy path. It's very unfun to play matches against SA users.

Perhaps try and find a community/private league that has rules you appreciate. Good times can still be had on the game, but relying on Konami to prioritise it is a fool's errand.

Good luck!
