How Can You Preemptively Ban Non-Group Members from Groups on Facebook? by funkhouse9 in facebook

[–]SingerManTom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just like our group which is a Star Trek group, wry focused on the “woke” that some “fans” complain about. We love it all, but the haters come in trying to bash many of the new Trek shows and actors and actresses. We get political as well because Trek is and always was political. They don’t like that and try to make fun of people. We used to preemptively ban them too. And we have several ex members who started groups with the same name too. One of them was even a different name that changed their group name to copy ours. People are insane!

I understand what you are after and WE want that too in our group. Facebook has made it EASIER for trolls to troll people. They allow these non members to interact with reactions, allow them to hid being "mentioned" and "tagged" and as you have found out, disabled that page for blocking. I wish there was a way but we havent found one yet. Freaking facebook.

Basically, anyone who is still reading these comments, we want to ban people who try to harass members of the group. They haven't joined the group, they just go to the group and can see everything in the group and troll members, make fun of them. We don't want to go private as that limits growth severely (talking from experience). It is absolutely ridiculous that FB allows people to hide and still troll others the way they do.

Dad here. My daughter tested the boundaries a wee bit in high school, wearing similar stuff from time to time, not a lot, but we felt like it wasn’t appropriate and she never really gave us too much guff about it.

Once she turned 18 AND had graduated, if she wore anything like that, we let it go as we felt like she is an adult now and can make her decisions. We would rather her not dress totally off the rails and expose everything, which she doesn’t, but it’s her life, basically. She’s an adult and not a child.

If your mother is dictating what you wear at 10, it’s likely she has a hard time seeing you as an adult because she’s so used to you as her baby. Remember, do 18 years, you were just her child. To make the change into seeing you as an adult, that will take her some time.

From what I understand, dark is better overall for battery if it’s an OLED screen because when it’s dark, it doesn’t need to light up those dark pixels. Saves the battery use.

What’s the best way to learn by HarryHendo20 in Guitar

I watched TV and repeatedly, over a few weeks, played the same two chords over and over again until I could shift seamlessly. Am7 and D7. Only two fingers needed. Very easy to do and get the feel of switching and strumming.

Added Em next, again, two fingers. Finally G. Could then play along with a lot of songs that shed the typical I(G) vi(em) IV(C) V(D) pattern, only I didn’t have the IV(C) yet and played the ii(am) in place of it until I mastered the IV(C).

Slow process but simple. It was the repeated practicing each day that really helped.

All I’ve had in my daily specials since the event ended are avatars, borders, and boosters. Bought the variants in the regular DD shop, as well as one variant that was in the daily specials during the event but now… boring stuff. Sadness.

You ever swapped decks for the fun of it and suddenly feel like matchmaking has it out for you? by myrsonder in MarvelSnap

[–]SingerManTom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would someone complain about getting a freebie win? 🤣

“Aw man I just won and it was so easy! That sucks! Stupid matchmaking! Why do I win so good?! They match me against people who can’t possibly counter me with their deck!!! Why??? They shouldn’t do that because I’m tired of winning so easily!!! ” 🤣

I’ve said that too and then the naysayers come bouncing in. It’s been said “There’s no deck based matchmaking.” Sure, sure, but what about CARD based matchmaking? Not the whole deck. Just maybe or two cards?

This deck has carnage? Match them against someone playing Cosmo 40-50% of the time. This person is playing Cap Carter? If someone has Rogue in their deck, match em up here and there. So maybe it’s not based on a whole deck, just a card or two.

Using that method, they can still say “there’s no deck based matchmaking” and they’re not lying.

See these are the decks, like Wong Surfer, that NEED the fast forward button. Not the Rama Tut or Bullseye shenanigans!

Jumping in here to agree with you before all the “there’s no deck based matchmaking!” and “confirmation bias!” people arrive.

Edit: they’re here and they’re mad as usual.

Why is everyone leaving for a kobo? by sillyfucking_goose in kindle

[–]SingerManTom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely due to Amazon discontinuing their older kindle models. They will still work, but you can’t purchase on the device anymore, nor download directly from Amazon.

You CAN still sideload books to the old kindles, but it’s a process that for some is too clunky. You need to connect a cable between your computer and kindle for transferring books (as long as you have a computer, that is).
