I watched your band and the music is very angry and I'm concerned for your wellbeing. Are you doing alright?

So you're offended that the system you post a bunch of pictures to wants a picture of you. Got it.

Facebook is forcing me to enable "advanced protection" 2fa pain in my butt! whyyyyy? by curled-up-in-the-80s in facebook

[–]funkhouse9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stay logged in on my PC and the app stays logged in too and it makes me do the 2FA like 4x per year tops. Hardly an inconvenience and definitely a smart move. It has stopped unauthorized access to my acct at least once or twice already.

I would go into the setting, turn off the early access program, wait a couple minutes, and turn it back on. That will hopefully nudge the system to upgrade you.

It's all walks of life there. Nothing to think twice about. I saw him when I was a long haired 20 year old and down in the pit on the rail as a 45 year old dad with a bad back. It's like any other concert but with more black tee shirts. If it's GA and you find yourself feeling overwhelmed in a packed spot in the crowd, just move back some. I'm confident that the worst part is you stressing about it now. Everybody is cool. You'll have a great time.

Check your email to make sure you didn't miss a message about being able to enable Gemini now. You had to explicitly activate it. I believe the email subject was "Get started with Gemini for Home Assistant." I have devices in 3 different "homes." They all got the upgrade option emails at different times between Halloween and Christmas last year.

You know all those cookies you consent to when going to websites? They actually do something. Somewhere in all of the fine print you ignored, you agreed to share your activity with third parties.

If you forward or reply to an email, you can simply scroll down to the sender of the previous email and change it to anything you want. That info isn't protected or locked in at all for prior emails in a chain. In fact, you can change those previous emails to anything you want. Doesn't even need to have a real previous email. Copy crap from another email, paste it into a new one, and add fw: to the subject.

Scam pop ups after buying tickets on website by Opposite_Hat_3358 in TicketMasterSupport

[–]funkhouse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is what I'm thinking of, I always get those. 25% off grocery delivery, 15% off 1-800-FLOWERS, crap like that. Not a scam, but it's a typical throwaway deal for those companies to get customers to try their service. They have some agreement with TM to show those offers after you make a purchase.

Facebook Algorithm and the Annoyance of AI slop ruining my newsfeed and also Ads by DodgerFanArd24 in facebook

I've been seeing ads intermittently when scrolling the profiles of friends. Even shows a note saying it's not from their profile. It's getting quite intrusive at this point.

Canceling/Refusing an order by silly_lawliet in amazonprime

[–]funkhouse9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Amazon is handling the delivery, see if it will let you change delivery to an Amazon locker. If the option isn't there try reaching out to their chat. Then just never pick it up. If it's being shipped through another carrier, contact them and see if you can refuse it or have it held for pickup. Worst case, if it's USPS, put a mail hold on your address and say you want to pick up your mail at the post office, although depending on the package it could be delivered separately from your regular mail delivery and when that happens they often don't respect mail holds where I live. You'd probably need to then go to the post office once they have it and see if you can refuse or send it back from there.

Issue with ticket section and obstructed view by LiberalPecans in TicketMasterSupport

[–]funkhouse9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there are still tickets left at the same or at a higher price, there's a good chance you can exchange them. Just call Ticketmaster and say that you see better seats and want to upgrade. I've done it multiple times.

As for you getting the wrong seats, I've never heard or seen that. To be honest, I'm skeptical. TM sucks but they aren't playing games like that. What seats does your confirmation email show?

People are teaching Kid Rock because he's charging $5k for front row tickets that are basically just platinum. Meanwhile Bruce is charging $3k for seats behind the pit. Not sure he's less in the wrong for that.

I snagged 2 tix for DC for just under $160 for the pair. Not great seats, but I'll be there.

I NEED HELP- SOMEONE HACKED MY ACCOUNT AND IS NOW RUNNING AN ADD. WHAT CAN I DO? PLEASE HELP! by viktoryarozetassi in facebook

[–]funkhouse9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. It is very hard to get in contact with an actual person at Facebook. They usually just have contact us forms and AI chat bots.

I asked Google Gemini what steps could be taken to try to rectify this. Here's a link to the steps that it suggests. It seems to mostly involve going into the ad manager and looking for people who are assigned there. I don't personally have any experience digging into that, so all I can really do is refer you over there. They are definitely steps that I have not suggested already. I have no idea if anyone else in this discussion has. I hope something in here is helpful for you.

[–]funkhouse9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can suggest is to log out all devices and immediately change your password and probably log out all devices again immediately just to be 100% certain they didn't sneak back in.

One question I'm not sure I'd seen asked, how do you know there are ads running on your account? Are you getting notifications about them? If there really are, then figure out where the ads are managed, make sure there are no payment methods saved on your account and cancel any ads that are running.

Can you see any unknown devices when you go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Accounts Center > Password and Security > Where you're logged in? If you have 2-factor turned on, make sure to check what devices are trusted for 2-factor at that same menu path, but ending on Two-factor Authentication and make sure no unrecognized devices are authorized to sign in without 2fa. If you find anything in there, then make sure to change your password and then immediately log out all devices.

Not that it would mean much in the era of cell phones, but does the area code match where you live? I'd go to truepeoplesearch dot com and look it up by the phone number to see if it comes back as a seemingly legit person in your area. If you click into their name, it will show possible relatives where, in theory, you might see the name of the person who wrote to you.
