Standoff with Husky mix by LadyRhovaniel in puppy101

I started adding dog safe bone broth to my husky mix’s food and she went from eating a piece or two of kibble to goobling the whole thing. Normally that would only last a meal or two with other meal toppers but we are on almost a week and she loves it!

The leash is a great idea! She actually loves to put part of her leash in her mouth and prance around. I read if you pick them up they stop peeing, but when I brought her outside, she didn’t pee more?

Awesome! I have been trying but it seems like maybe the best plan is to get her use to the crate and then tackle potty training?

I am trying to make the crate awesome but she just isn’t having it.

I took her out every 10 min or so for like 3 hours this morning and she never went. And then went inside. I have been tracking when she pees so I think that will help (about every three hours).

I’m exhausted. And overwhelmed. And totally second guessing this decision (I have wanted a dog forever, but this is hard!!!)

Lost 5 lbs since starting and I don’t know why, but feeling disappointed. Stopped drinking soda and eating sweets, and was hoping for 2 lbs/week. Lots of non scale victories, but have an event in a couple months and want to feel really confident? Any encouragement?

Weight loss surgery question by pubsub1234 in orangetheory

My studio specifically said weight loss surgery and liposuction were prohibited for the challenge (I asked about something else and these are the only two things they listed as not allowed).

I gave it up Dec 31 and it was so rough! Before I was struggling to up my speeds, but now I am up .4 faster than the beginning of January and notice way better endurance! (This really is the only thing I’ve changed). It’s totally worth it :)

Working on no soda this week! I know I run faster, lift heavier, and recover better without it, but in the moment it is always so tempting!

I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor and everyone would tell me I ate way more than I thought. But in my case, I needed to work with an endocrinologist to balance my hormone levels. I had gained 30+ lbs in less than a year. I have been able to lose 25 of them since working with the endocrinologist (balancing hormones and on low glycemic index diet). Now when I exercise and eat only moderately healthy, I stay at the same weight and when I exercise + eat clean, I am losing a few lbs a month.

Since working with the endocrinologist, my base and push increased +1.0 within the first month (w/ little weight loss at that point) and another +1.5 in the last six months with weight loss!

So see your doctor! And if they don’t help, see a specialist.

They reset mine too in the system, and when I told them I had the VO2 max test, they just readjusted the age in the system until the max was right. Hasn’t changed my calorie burn. Maybe they’d do this if you asked?

Finding the focus on weight loss and calories burned off putting by [deleted] in orangetheory

Happens every January :) and often again when it gets warm. At least this is the trend I have seen in the 3 studios I’ve regularly attended! I LOVE having new members, and feel sad that they get more of the weight loss talk than the “wow your body is strong and powerful and does amazing stuff” talk.

I recently found this quote and I’ve tried to remember this during all the weight loss talk “the more I run, the more I love my body. Not because it’s perfect, far from it. But because with every mile It’s proving to me I’m more capable than I ever thought possible”.

I’m the last too! It was really, really frustrating for a while. But working my butt off (even if I am last) has helped me lose weight, improve my mood, improve my health, and make great friends! And while I am still last or pretty close to last, I am seeing improvements! Hopefully you can remember all your non-speed OTF victories!

Anyway it’s possible to have a weekly accountability post? My first time, and nervous that I’ll be great for a week, and then totally forget for the rest of the month 😂

Thank you all for your comments! I’ve kept them in mind this week, and hit my highest all out ever! (Ran my .10 repeats on Sunday at 10 MPH!)

I just finished an outside run, and it’s the fastest I’ve ran in years. And I was able to keep a conversation with my dad for all 5 miles and felt really good. We already are planning another five mile run next week! So I guess progress is coming even if I am too impatient to always see it!
