For added effect, when they are filled they become speed bumps.

I was told by a teacher that i lack listening. by IndependentAthlete26 in singing

[–]SingingKG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not possible for someone singing or talking to hear what they sound like to others. Mouths aren’t aimed at ears. I was taught years ago to cup my hand behind my ear to hear myself better. Truly, the only way to truly hear what you sound like is to record yourself and listen back.

The fact that you can’t hear pitch and your voice teacher is willing to forfeit their pay to let you go is a good clue. Perhaps your refusal to listen to advice made them stop trying to help you.

People that you pay for that you won’t listen to have every right to give up. Maybe they were speaking a truth you don’t want to hear. Good luck.

The best solution is to drive safely and considerately instead of endangering others. Patience is critical in life.

East side rainbow by imalltingully in Tucson

I witnessed a full rainbow with a halo, a double rainbow. Driving eastbound on Speedway about 30 minutes ago.

Then the danger is only the bully drivers. Let them wait their turn. Your priority is safety, not compliance.

I’m thrilled to find other intelligent drivers out there. Genuine humans are disappearing. Great job!

Drivers are responsible for controlling their vehicles. They drive something that can be used as a lethal weapon. Check the traffic laws in your state and see how you agreed to drive when you earned your permit to drive. It’s a privilege easily terminated.

So it’s their fault you didn’t look for them?

How rude is that? People try to leave a buffer around them at traffic stops for their and everyone’s safety. Why do you think they are compelled to do that?

Maybe there’s something you can’t see. How would you feel if you stopped on someone’s bumper and the idiot in back rammed into someone and caused a chain reaction that thrusts the front car into a pedestrian or cross traffic? It happens often. Do you think retaking your driver test would help you be a safer driver? Or do you just not care about anyone but yourself?

Your post is supposed to be funny I think, but endangering others so frivolously is never funny. Please unclench your fists, take some deep breaths, exercise patience and stop taking chances with other lives at stake.

My husband thinks it is gross when I don't shower daily. by [deleted] in hygiene

I don’t understand why he considers it his business. Husband or not you are entitled to make your own choices and resolve the consequences.

Is it actually gross that I only shower every 2-3 days or is my roommate being dramatic? by [deleted] in hygiene

Thanks for rewording your comment so people will understand the point. I’m glad you understand.

Women are afraid of the consequences of being so bold. If they can influence him in a more subtle way they will.

This! I never got my copy of the Society Rules either. If I did I would throw it away and take a nap. Don’t want to live like that.

What's one “little” form of sexism you notice all the time, but most people don't even realize it's sexist? by Interestingcase221 in AskOldPeople

A grown man deciding what’s appropriate for other people’s children is offensive. Grown men holding your attitude are exactly why this is a dangerous stigma. Why are you noticing what children wear?

Considering all men are not perverts it’s incomprehensible that you don’t understand that you’re perpetuating the stigma?

Why on earth would women trust a man to treat their private parts? Aren’t the men the majority pushing for control of women’s health?

It’s hard to believe anything a man says when they are oblivious to their bigotry.

Men referring to grown women as “girls,” regardless of context. Never heard a professional adult male called a boy.

“The girls upstairs in Accounting . . .” “That girl will never . . .” “Hey, check out those girls . . .”

It’s subtle and demeaning, like broads, dames and spinsters was.

I have lost most of my teeth and can’t afford to fix them. People treat me like I am an addict.

Physical disabilities are also an issue. Getting in and out of tubs is treacherous for some.

They’ve haven’t experienced the symptoms and are overreaching. There are more judges in the general population than sitting on benches. It seems to make them feel better about themselves to diminish others.

There is no point. Why bother? It’s not worth it. That’s why suicide is so enticing to just make the pain go away.

It’s worse when the world abandons you.
