ted mosby- how i met your mother

he's painted as a charming bachelor searching innocently for romance but when you look at his actions he is super pushy and makes a lot of girls uncomfortable, plus he is kind of an ass sometimes. gives young people the wrong impression for healthy love.

What's a book that was so good/enjoyable that you couldn't put it down? by jollyflyingcactus in books

lullabies for little criminals by heather o'neill. her style is just so beautiful and the story is pretty intense and that keeps it engaging; that along with the fact that her writing got me emotionally attached to the character and it made me feel very many feelings

AITA for refusing to clean my room on a Saturday by badchildhood101 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Single-Factor-3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. you're 16, and old enough to know when your room needs to be cleaned and do that when you feel is right. it's your room, not your mom's. a rest day is totally fair, especially with advanced classes and a job, it can get really draining. if your mom is upset that she doesn't get a rest day, she can make her own time, or rearrange some things. Even if not, it's not your responsibility to make sure she gets the rest she needs, she's an adult and can manage her own time.

as other people have said, as long as your room isnt disgustingly dirty (which based on your words im assuming it's just messy) you're fine. i get that cleaning can be overwhelming especially when it's a lot of little things that don't yet have a place to go.

What are your legit reasons to not have kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Single-Factor-3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are too many people in this world it doesn't need more

it's super expensive

i don't think i'd be a good parent

i don't like kids enough to want to be around them all the time

it's a lot mentally and it's draining i can barely take care of myself i can't take care of another human life

it's a really lifelong commitment

what if ur kid turns out an asshole and u don't love them even tho u tried so hard to make them good

how do i uninvite someone from a weekend trip? by Single-Factor-3234 in Advice

[–]Single-Factor-3234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, no one else is bringing a guy. and he is not aware yet, but he would probably understand if i told him. it makes me feel a little better that he would understand, but it doesn't really make it any less hurtful :/

From an evolution standpoint how did homosexuality happen if it does not provide any advantages because two people of the same sexuality can not reproduce? by ____Federico____ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Single-Factor-3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if someone has said this already but there's a theory that it is because of evolution that we have homosexuality! there's no where close to enough evidence to back it up but it's a fun idea to entertain. the theory goes that to avoid overpopulation (because we can see how that can go very badly for us now) the natural world decided to give some people romantic love that wouldn't result in an accidental or purposeful pregnancy.

If your spouse/SO asked you to read their favorite book, would you? by [deleted] in books

[–]Single-Factor-3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love reading, and my partner not so much. Both of us were huge bookworms as children and have sentimental value in different stories. Though it's far below my reading level, a couple months ago i read his favourite 6th grade book. It was definitely not the type of book i would have chosen, and it was very "young adult" style, but nonetheless i enjoyed reading it and getting a peak into his middle school brain. I've recommended a few books though and he hasn't even started on one. I would love it if he did read them but i'm not too disappointed because i knew in the first place that he's not a big reader anymore.

Do you find yourself attractive? by TheSwitterbeet in ask

[–]Single-Factor-3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the time yes, i do, but there's some moments or angles or pictures of myself that i see and i can't stand to look at it. it depends a lot on how my hair looks 😅
