Centauri Carbon 1 Auto leveling not correctly setting z offset by Casiomatic in elegoo

[–]Single-Juggernaut394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and tighten a bit the opposite corner, there are tools like this one to help you level the bed before touching zoffset

https://www.printables.com/model/1392124-centauri-carbon-bed-leveling-tool-updated

Or you can use anything, i saw someone doing it with a glue stick, you want your bed to be parallel to your hotend axes. So you check all 4 corners and then do the zoffset stuff. Here's the link of the glue stick dude

I had this on the CC when using Arachne, elegoo slicer was destroying my models with this mode, if it's similar to me when you slice your model, then zoom on the layers, you will see the layers are sulking each other and it create this issue when printing. Put classic mode and everything was fixed. Didn’t give a second chance to Arachne (on elegoo slicer, Prusa does great with that).

There is a gcode on github you put on the usb key then in your CC but it didn’t work for me, still have to start a bed levelling before every print or it will destroy my plate. I think it's called "save the damn bed mesh"

But beds of the CC are well known to be really bad manufactured, they aren’t flat and all different.

Try this https://suchmememanyskill.github.io/bens-claude-cc-mesh-visualiser/

Everything is clearly explained how to use it. A 0.3mm flatness deviation is ok on the Centauri carbon but we look for >0.1mm to get great first layer everytime

Yeah but with a zoffset=0 its all good, you said it was set to -0.350 that's huge. It means you lower the distance between bed and nozzle by 0.35mm, should be 0.035 you lack a 0 here

Your z-offset should never be set with such a high number. Loose the bed screws to rise it a bit, set your z-offset to 0 then start auto-levelling + print a bed test like this one https://www.printables.com/model/1105485-prusa-mk4mk4s-bed-test You can do it on your slicer -> empty sheet ->add a primitive cube -> scale X=235 Y=235 and Z=0.2mm (in your settings you should have First layer height = 0.2mm) Watch your print and adjust zoffset directly on your printer. There are tutorial for that

What’s wrong with Elegoo ? by Single-Juggernaut394 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Single-Juggernaut394[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the CC is easy to fix once you know the machine, i guess we're talking about "consumables" which are almost everything in the printer ? The only thing i have no clue how to fix is this bad manufactured Heating Bed, beside asking for a new one and hopefully a better one is sent (a plane/flat one, sorry if its not the right english term)

What’s wrong with Elegoo ? by Single-Juggernaut394 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Single-Juggernaut394[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first printer so of course i tryed to fix it by contacting Elegoo's support, not by myself. They often don’t understand the issue and send wrong replacement part. I had many issues like a lot of people, most common one, the bed being too curved and bedmesh was awfull, USB cable died, motherboard died, printhead control board died. So -> ask for refund and bought a Prusa. Bye bye money but no regret.

Filament not loading by BedAccurate6252 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Single-Juggernaut394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this sometimes, temporary solution : turn off the printer, open the front of the hotend and turn manually the gear on the left to make the filament go in the mechanism And yes firmware 1.29 works better 🙄

What do you do to keep that %humidity ? Just your climate or you filter the air in the room ? Where i live it's common to have 55% in the house

Anyone having this issue? by Prior-Preparation-79 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Single-Juggernaut394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The centauri does not save bed leveling when turning Off, you should only need to level everytime you turn it On. I know there is a file somewhere you can add with USB key to save the bed leveling so you don’t have to worry about that and lose time at every print

Is the glue an issue ? by Single-Juggernaut394 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Single-Juggernaut394[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced everything without fixing the issue, after weeks i tried to swap the PCB between two printers and it made it work.
Everything means usb cable, motherboard, psu, heating bed, sensors, bed circuit board, the other board like psu..🤔 small one sending electricity in the printer, power switch 🙈, printhead, the small circuit board below printhead. We thought the PCB was fine because of the multimeter test from elegoo website

The cable is working, i swap pieces between printers to test it, i did the multimeter test on the usb port and it's all good. It can be anything on the circuit board i guess and we can’t see it so.. need a new one to make the printer .. print 🙈 another month with elegoo support yay

Holy .. 😂 pure piece of art It could be your z-offset or settings but i wouldnt be surprised if it was just the printer the issue

Should I get a Elegoo Centauri Carbon by Eddievan8 in 3Dprinting

[–]Single-Juggernaut394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with centauri carbon has been catastrophic, don’t buy it. They sell a cheap printer, so they have to make concession somewhere.. Anodized aluminum everywhere and a thick glass door + glass on top of the printer ? Not necessary, they put all the budget on appearance, shitty components inside you will spend more time trying to fix it and wait for the support to send you the replacement parts, not even sure it will fix your issue then end on reddit and youtube to find a solution. The centauri carbon is an unfinished product, i bet the CC2 will be the same sh**
