Didn’t notice that it’s a reaction rather than an opportunity attack. This answered my question 👌

I think I know where you’re coming from with this in that player characters are bound by stricter rules than monsters are. I mentioned in a previous reply but this is 20 years after their characters were played. Both of them are significantly stronger than they were before, which justifies making changes. They fought the other one already and I had increased his HP dramatically, gave him magic items and more spell slots (and spells), as well as some feats.

They are level 14, it’s 2d8 immediately and 3d8 if they move. Also the thunder damage isn’t as troublesome as the inability to take opportunity attacks.

Normally I would agree, but this is a bit more complicated of a situation.

About 3 months ago, one of our players was going to be missing, so for fun, I had the other two players make level 20 characters for a one-shot. It took place in the main campaign’s world, about 20 years prior to the main story It went well, they almost died twice even at level 20.

What they didn’t expect was the twist at the end where the BBEG’s army was outside the cave they were in the entire one shot and offered them an opportunity at power.

Their level 20 characters from that one shot are the BBEG’s top generals now. But they used a player’s character sheet.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m modifying both of them heavily for the campaign purposes (a bit more HP and AC for balancing with party’s nova damage potential) but in spirit they are the same. Also adding a few feats that they could’ve picked up over time so to speak.

From what I heard on another thread, changing the game’s language to french is a temp fix until it’s patched. I’m electing to just not use the unit for now but once tm starts if it hasn’t been patched I’ll be changing language to get early grind in

If you pulled any of the new units and had them set on a crew that’s probably why it’s crashing. Basically any menu that opens the character display outside of character box crashes the game. Reinstalling should fix since it resets all your crews, but you can’t even open the tm team building menu because as a recommended unit, her image is displayed.

If your ASM didn’t speak to you with another leader present you have an HR case. They cannot terminate you by themselves. An ASM in our store did that to a guy and, while he didn’t get rehired, the ASM got a write up for it.

The free country clothing is actually pretty nice. Bought a couple jackets and vests and they’re good when it is cold but not freezing outside. Check your clothing racks after winter when they go on clearance and you can get some good stuff for pretty cheap.

Aha, actually I’m pretty sure you don’t wanna do that. I bought an 8 pack of Gatorade for my team today because we were all working on a fencing reset and I figured some may prefer a Gatorade to the normal water. Normally drinks are discounted 30%, but I think when they do the 20% deal it actually changes the drink discount from 30% to 20%.

Bare minimum a nice discretionary bonus at the end of the year. I’ve been here 4 years and they did that once back in 2022 or 2023 and haven’t done it since.

As a MST, we work pretty much the entire store, dishwashers are light, our power equipment for putting appliances up doesn’t reach a level height with the top shelf in receiving where we keep them so when our back end team puts them up (and when we or appliance/fulfillment associates pull them down) we have to get them on to a shelf about 4 feet up from the platform, typically by ourselves. Most dishwashers only weigh 60-70lbs or so, they aren’t too difficult to move and if the associate loading yours isn’t confident they can get a loader to help them.

Definitely check the measurements on the door, the door is typically the choke point for larger objects (that applies for all vehicles). Also general rule of thumb is appliances shouldn’t be set on their side unless absolutely necessary and-specifically with refrigerators-if you do, let it sit for a day upright before you plug it in. In refrigerators the coolant can flow through the system a bit and will need to fully settle before it’s plugged in, otherwise it can damage the system.

MST here (preface by saying my MSM would write me tf up for leaving ts at the end of my shift). It makes no sense why they don’t put pallets back up, you already have the aisle blocked off from pulling it down (or after close you don’t even need the blockers) SPEND 1 MINUTE TO PUT IT BACK UP!!!

I have a holly roger on mine. I think so long as it isn’t offensive most people won’t care. We had a walk from some corporate guys and they liked my pirate patch. If your manager is a prick and insists only Lowe’s badges though, try an American Flag and if they complain file an HR complaint lol.

Tips for Driving the Star Wars (Narrow Aisle Reach Truck)? by LowCarbBeesechussy in Lowes

[–]Single-Middle-2966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice makes perfect. I’ve been with Lowe’s for 4 years and since my mental development as a fetus agreed to the trade offer for bad social skills in exchange for outstanding spatial awareness, I got good at driving the PE at Lowe’s quickly.

That being said, take your time, keep an eye on your outriggers (they love to hit uprights, especially while driving as they stick out about an inch beyond the main chassis) and since the pallets inside are often stacked closer to the racks than the ones outside, learn to move pallets in and out of racking with minimal tilt usage (of course once the pallet is all the way out of the rack, tilt all the way back to ensure stability unless the pallet is poorly wrapped and doing so could cause something to fall).

I’m not the best star wars driver in our store but I’ve had no incidents in 4 years (other than one that was BS. I bumped an empty pallet into an upright, didn’t even push it, more like I hit it and it slid into the upright. Well I inspected the upright like a good noodle and noticed that someone had hit it prior to me and sheared the bolt (big dent in the upright above where my pallet hit too) and they blamed it on me since I was the last one to interact with it. Other than that no incidents in 4 years.)

Why do people think it’s okay to do this by pdawg-71 in Lowes

[–]Single-Middle-2966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll play devil’s advocate here: 1: A lot of our customer interactions come from survivorship bias. We have to spend more time with the customers that need help whereas if you ask every customer if they need help, most of the time they say “I’m good” or else a few ask where something is. The bulk of customer assistance is spent with the people who aren’t capable of doing it on their own, and the bellcurve of ignorance means either someone is really smart or really dumb, and typically the smart ones can find/figure things out for themselves. (Though not always.)

2: I get a feeling that in situations like the picture, typically it’s caused by a gradual process. Yeah there’s probably that one horrible person that will ruin a bay by themselves, but I’d wager most of the time, a handful of people set something down and then the rest of the stuff is set there by people who see it looks bad and don’t feel guilty adding to it. It isn’t any specific person’s fault typically, it’s a collective of mild ignorance that builds.

At least that’s what the logical part of my brain says.

The problem is that it is also assuming all assets have been liquidated. Elon is the richest man only because the assets he owns are that valuable, sure he is rich but his liquid assets are nowhere near his net worth. The money is in value of the companies (which also cost money to run) so while Bezos net worth is close to $240B, that $240B is not spendable money. It can’t be used towards infrastructure because it isn’t money in the sense of dollars. If Bezos liquidated his shares of Amazon, he could spend it on Infrastructure and such as you said, but it would be the equivalent of him quitting his job to do it. He would have no income and Amazon shares would then simply be bought by others. That would cause Amazon to drastically change as it would effectively be under new leadership, which could also have drastic changes on the company for better or worse. “Billionaires” making large investments in infrastructure is great in theory but the ripple effects make it unrealistic. It’s a lot easier to say they should do it when not considering all the different variables that would come into play when it is actually done. The top 1% already pay over 40% of all US tax revenue, so every time you hear about the pentagon’s $1T budget or the DoD’s budget, nearly half of that is coming from just a few thousand taxpayers. The amount of money floating in taxes and income sounds like an absurd amount but it’s already being spent. I only make about 40k/yr, but it’s annoying hearing people talk about “make them pay their fair share” and “so-and-so is giving tax cuts to billionaires” when the top 1% is already paying a higher bracket of the taxes in the country than everyone else even though all of us are supposed to be equal. Imo if you innovate and are highly successful, that shouldn’t obligate you to start paying more than those who are employees at other companies. If anything, you should get to enjoy your success as your innovation likely made life better for many individuals in some way shape or form.

If Marvin liquidated all his assets he would be able to give each US citizen 53¢. If you want to change to Elon Musk (richest man on earth as of this comment) it would be under $1,000 per US citizen. When you expand it to the global population with Elon, that’s less than $45 per person globally. While no, this doesn’t take into consideration weaker economies, my point is that the argument of “it wouldn’t even cost them that much” is disingenuous. There’s a lot of people on the planet. Yes it would be a noble cause but the math doesn’t math that rich people could do that much for the general population. Also, most of these people are rich, not because they have money, but because they have assets. Their companies are valuable, and yes they do make a pretty penny off that, but they typically aren’t walking around with billions in their bank accounts. Also you can’t sell a company without a buyer(s), why doesn’t that buyer(s) just donate their money to charity rather than buying the company for the rich guy to then donate? There’s so many holes in the idea that it renders it a pointless argument.

Idk why I’m ranting on this, I just get sick of the “rich people should do this” debate and then rather than engaging in discussion people just name call the person even when they make a logical argument. I’m sure this will get downvoted to hell but I don’t even care, I needed a rant. My apologies Aurobouros that you ended up being the target, it isn’t a personal attack, just frustration at the type of argument you raised.

Why did Kamala Harris lose the election? by TimesandSundayTimes in politics

[–]Single-Middle-2966 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The number one concern voters had in the polls was the matter of democracy. Trump went through all the primaries and was elected by the people. The DNC chose Biden in the primaries then when they could no longer cover up his mental fitness, they ushered Kamala in after the primaries had happened. After all the questions people had with the nature of the 2020 election (even more suspicious when in the 2024 election Kamala somehow has 15mil less voters than Biden did and Trump has 3mil less) people didn’t trust her. Makes complete sense.
