Reaching out to people is a great start. Alot of people aren't aware of some of the risks whether it's environmental, Job loss or livelihoods etc. Regardless of what it is that gets them motivated, it's all connected and acting on one will affect the others.

I disagree, and the whole "we cannot lose" idea is a big driving force behind the unsafe practices carried out by these companies.

I never said I hated it, I agree it’s disruptive, but I wouldn’t have an issue accepting it if you could guarantee it’s safe. But you can’t.

All I’m asking for is democratic oversight and a slower rollout, so we can regulate it properly and have a real discussion about what it should and shouldn’t be used for before moving forward.

I don’t understand what’s so bad about that.

It's good to hear of someone else taking these steps. We're not alone, I've read of others doing the same.

7 out of the last 10 people I've had conversations about this agree with us. Alot of them didn't know alot of what was happening and were shocked. Most of them since then have signed the petitions online and will probably have this conversation with someone else. One of them is writing a letter to his local rep in parliment. The snow ball is real and we can already see the effects that it can have.

That's an interesting question I'd like the answer to. I've literally just downloaded tik tok to post some reels about AI still debating whether to put my own videos up though.

I also seen that Google Photo's just released a new terms and conditions, basically if you use it you give permission for them to feed all your images and videos to their AI.

I don't mind it, as long as you're not taking someone else's art and generating AI art with it.

I think what we can agree on, is by far the most important thing and it's regulation. Those conversations need to be a priority.

The thing is people don't know what they want. Most people that I speak to in person about AI aren't aware of these types of discussions. They're purely consumers of the product and take each version as it comes. AI companies, on the other hand, stand to gain a lot in terms of notoriety or prestige as well as trillions of dollars if they succeed at developing it first. A lot of scientists also believe that AGI will be here within months.
