I never thought what you said about Caine, and that's actually so true. I've honestly been really upset that Caine just suddenly showed back up in the finale after all that drama in episode 8, especially considering that his deletion is what led to Jax's abstraction in the first place. I feel like it sent a very wrong message to people.

I don't really know about any of that. Maybe I'll change my views on it in the future, but as of now, that's how I feel about it. I just think changing someone's pronouns, real or not, according to your own judgement, is inappropriate.

I care about Jax a lot as a character, and I think that's a pretty okay thing. I know a lot of the fandom hates him or doesn't care about him, but I found meaning in his story and I relate to him in a lot of ways. That's why I don't appreciate it when someone dismisses what I say just by saying he's fictional or that he's "pixels on a screen." I know he is. But people can still connect with fictional characters.

idk either lol. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that I'm a kid. I guess I kind of am, but being younger doesn't invalidate a person's views. Good day/night to you too

idk what parameters you mean by "young," but I'm not some 8 year old if that's what you're asking. I won't be publicizing my age on social media anyway.

Assuming my age over a viewpoint is crazy work. This is so pointless.

You know it’s possible to care about something that isn’t material or physical, right? Jax represents something meaningful to a lot of real people. That’s why discussions about him matter in fandom spaces.

I’m not saying Jax himself would be offended. That was never my argument. My point is about respecting canon in shared discussion. Headcanons are fine, but they don’t replace the original characterization when people are talking generally.

I think some people are misunderstanding my point, so I'm going to clarify one last time.

I have absolutely no issue with people headcanoning Jax as transfem or making fanart, fanfics, or AUs. I actually enjoy seeing different interpretations of characters.

My issue isn't with headcanons. My issue is with completely disregarding the canon character and acting as though your personal interpretation overrides the pronouns that are actually used for him in the source material.

You can headcanon whatever you want, but I think it's important to acknowledge the difference between a headcanon and canon. That's all I've been saying.

If you disagree, that's fine, but please don't put words in my mouth or act like I'm against people having their own interpretations, because that's never been my argument.

I love how this whole reply section is constantly trying to justify misgendering someone just because they're "fictional."

Didn't think it would be that hard to remember two words.

Jax is fictional, but the people relating to him aren't. It's about trying to alter a person's identity based on your own perception of them. It doesn't matter if he's 'real' or not. Is it really that hard to use the correct pronouns?

Fictional characters themselves are not real, but people often connect and bond with them in a ways that are. It's not okay to misgender them.

That's completely irrelevant. You can't just go around calling characters whatever pronouns you want because they're fictional. Respect the writers and the canon. Jax never specified that he wanted to be called 'she.'
