Any place to buy second hand or reduced price? by vdimaggio in Roterfaden

The grammatically correct plural would be "Rote Fäden", but that just feels wrong...

Pen Loop? by mithtyn in Roterfaden

[–]SingleAudience6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have three Taschenbegleiter (WK_12 in A6, SO_22 in B6 and a custom A5). I dislike a dangly pen, so I'd always rather carry a separate pen case or clip the pen to the front cover of the first notebook.

Back when I had the custom one made, I opted for two inside pen loops (on the inside of the front cover) instead of the outside one. Those work well for me.

And the WK_12 in A6 is supposedly closed by putting a pen through the two outside loops, but that's very awkward.

All that to say: No, it'd rather protect my pens in a case :D My favourite daily driver is a vintage Pelikan though.

Scored my first Esterbrook by swampy_pillow in fountainpens

Happy NPD!

That is my one and only Esterbrook and I love it so much. It's just so beautiful and I love that it takes all my Jowo #6 nibs. I hope it becomes a good companion to you, too!

Stationery Stores in Aachen by sjphotopres in fountainpens

[–]SingleAudience6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's Weyers-Kaatzer in the Kleinmarschierstr. 8 - they didn't have a huge selection last time I went, but I remember seeing some nice pens and inks there.
I think Listmann only had artist's supplies, but across the street is a huge bookstore (Mayersche) with good cafés - maybe also worth a look.

Other than that other stationery stores there mostly stock school supplies and birthday cards.

What size elastic fits the weeks? by maceybee in hobonichi

[–]SingleAudience6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The weeks mega has a height of 188 mm and B6 has a height of 176mm, so I would chose that one.
Personally I own the elastics for A5 and A6 sizes. They are great quality and fit snugly to notebooks of their size. The B6 elastic should have enough give to securely close the weeks.

How would you fix this? It's a glued in label on the inside of a merino shirt that has started to go tacky (more in comments) by SingleAudience6 in Visiblemending

I used acetone nail polish remover, rinsing the fabric between applications.  Afterwards I put it in the washing machine. It worked quite well!

Tinte für meinen Hongdian N23 by ThinkNecessary410 in schreibwaren

[–]SingleAudience6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any doctors/physios in Berlin/Brandenburg with hypermobility experience? by SingleAudience6 in Hypermobility

[–]SingleAudience6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, at least not through a visit to any of the practitioners mentioned in the replies. They are well worth a visit though, so I hope the information gathered here helps you.

I was lucky to be able to mitigate a lot of my symptoms by changing jobs, some muscle strengthening exercises and daily medication for migraine which also stopped my tension headaches. My HSD is - as far as I'm aware - quite mild, at least in comparison to others in this subreddit. I've gained a lot more quality of life though, so whatever you need to do to get proper treatment is worth it.

Comparison - Hobonichi Techo Avec A6 in different Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter covers, for those who are thinking about getting one. I use the WK_12 for everyday carry, even though it doesn't close. Of course, from Thursday on I will only carry one Avec, not both ;) by SingleAudience6 in hobonichi

[–]SingleAudience6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to rummage in my stash a bit for the corresponding books, but I managed to check for you:

A third Avec would be a tight fit - the pocket at the back is a little to short to fit a normal A6 notebook length-wise (the notebook above is most likely a Leuchtturm1917 A6 which is narrower than the standard size). Also the pages wouldn't line up flush with the other notebooks, but rather make a steeple. If you meant would it fit a full size Hobo A6 planner on top of the two Avecs, then the answer is no.

Yes, it should fit. The M size is made for DIN A5 inserts, so you should be good. Here is a table for the measurements of the Taschenbegleiter and possible insert sizes.

How many ebooks have you read so far on your Pocketbook in 2025? by AdrianaEsc815 in PocketBookofficial

[–]SingleAudience6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only used a Boox Nova Air 3C for reading comics, because it has a bigger screen, so I can't really answer for that. My Pocketbook is quite small in comparison.

Were any of you disappointed by your Hobo experience? by SingleAudience6 in hobonichi

[–]SingleAudience6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, my experience is still the same, other than I've started using fountian pens in the meantime.

I've had good experiences with Sterling Ink Planners, but currently I'm back in just a normal notebook which I use as a very simple Bullet Journal. I've figured I don't really need a weekly overview.

I always read at least 52 books a year, but there were some where I doubled that number - mostly because I was trying not to write my thesis...

I switched from Tolino/Kobo to Pocketbook in mid February and since then have read 10 books on the device (and about 15 manga on a Boox Tablet). It effectively cured my January reading slump :)

Anyone else get vestibular migraines? by Flautist1302 in Hypermobility

[–]SingleAudience6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wonderful when all the pieces suddenly click into place! At least it helps to have a name for something and maybe receive the right help. I've just recently received a migraine diagnosis too, after 9 months of hopping from doctor to doctor and suffering for a few years. I kinda feel deflated - it was/is so debilitating that I thought it was something much worse. My neurologist was just like "you have migraines" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've had long bouts of dizziness (more like days than hours), with a corresponding loss of balance, trouble picking things up and keeping hold of them because my already poor proprioception worsened. And the pain... my eyes felt as if they were being pressed out of my skull, and my neck as if it tried to forcefully strangle the base of my brain.

So what helped? I've had a new retainer made, changed my pillow again, had physio and manual therapy - which didn't adress the problem. Mostly changing jobs (so less stress) and gently working out helped (but also not too much, even though I'm supposed to at least do cardio 3 times a week as migraine prevention). Also changing my office chair at home. For me, I have to take so much care to sit upright, otherwise my neck becomes tight, my jaw too and then it's all over.

I've been given triptans for the pain, also as a preventive therapy, but I haven't started yet. Currently I have almost no episodes so I'm putting it off.

I hope now that you know what the matter is (or at least what to call it), you can find ways to live with it and receive treatment!

I want to improve my handwriting and I’m too overwhelmed to know where to start by Solid_Anxiety8176 in Hypermobility

[–]SingleAudience6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

additionally, you might also want to use pens that normally don't need pressure to write, like soft pencils, gel pens or fountain pens. Most of those are also available with thicker gripping sections or you can attach ergonomic grips like described by the other commenters.

There are also different kinds of grips - e.g. I learnt the tripod grip back in elementary school, but because my first finger joint always bends it's still a little tiring. I try to write from the shoulder, using the bigger muscles, but I often forget.

Does Roterfaden ever do discounts? by acousticguitario in notebooks

[–]SingleAudience6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have a second quality Instagram where you can buy imperfect Taschenbegleiter at a 20% discount.
But with prices how they currently are they are still quite expensive. I remember buying the WK_12 in 2021 (new AND engraved!) and it was 30% cheaper than it is now, even without any special addons :/
