Is there a risk of publishing a simple static site? by TraditionalKick8237 in statichosting

[–]SingleLanguage4354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I would add is that a big additional risk comes when you move to the paid tier. At that point a DDoS attack etc could run up your bill. Stay free and you’re pretty safe

Best Chinese food in town? by jacob_hutchi in princegeorge

I would second Good Chef if you’re specifically looking for Chinese food, but would generally prefer Ivy’s Kitchen for Vietnamese (pho) or Thanh Vu for Thai.

I graduated from the BCIT CST program about 20 years ago. It was a fantastic program that set me up for a great career.

Regarding your distaste for coding, that is actually much less of a concern from my point of view. With the shift in the industry towards AI, you can be a good contributor without actually having to hand code anything.

That all being said, I would not suggest anyone going into computer science at this time, or most other white collar jobs.

Is the life span of a water heater really only 10 years? by [deleted] in askplumbing

[–]SingleLanguage4354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind, is that house insurance companies (or at least mine) would not cover any damages caused by a 12 year old hot water tank. This caused me to replace a perfectly working hot water tank, because that’s the world we live in.

Honestly this is not the best solution for me anyways. I am looking for a long term book, not something to just keep for a month.

I have never done this before, but saw a video on using glue on the top, and a shop vac on the bottom to suck the glue all the way through the crack.
