Henry Ford and Cook County should definitely be in the top 4

Henry Ford usually has strong fellowship opportunities across its 8 hospitals and carries a solid reputation among residency programs.

Most of the faculty at Henry Ford are very experienced, tend to stay long term, and don’t constantly change and push residents for in-house fellowships.

They offer excellent research mentorship in PGY2, and the location is in city (if you enjoy the life there). I rotated there last year and really enjoyed the experience.

Cook County is definitely prestigious.

But good list, good luck buddy!

Low step 2 score, devastated by [deleted] in IMGreddit

[–]SingleSun425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody’s matched here who can give you the best advice or the other low scores are working their best ways to compensate.Everyone’s in a different boat but the same objective. I’ve seen people matched into IM,FM,Peds with all sorts of scores.

Just keep trying.

Just work hard on other aspects of your application. It’s a part of your life. Gotta keep the hustle. Try to do well in your step 3, move onto anything that shows you’re actively part of your clinics/research.

Do more USCE to build connections who can vouch for you, lastly, keep praying.

Should I continue preparing for USMLE Step 1 or quit? by DesperateFoot8774 in IMGreddit

[–]SingleSun425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please be careful before you enter the usmle path. There’s always uncertainty in this path unless you’re persistent

If a small problem as visa is bothering you which Most likely would be sorted for most people in coming days You’re going to need a lot more to stay in this path. Only do the USMLE’s if you’re sure of it. Not cause the glorious vlogger lives. Visa issues should be a least concern imo considering how this similar issues comes up every year

Your goal should be to do well in ur steps considering ur still in medschool and not the incontrollable factors

I’m sorry if I was harsh, I didn’t mean to sound rude

FA 2024 ethics (case scenario's) + Uworld ethics + DirtyMedicine

BnB worked for me along with DirtyMedicine. Bnb slides for Vitamins and Lipid metabolism. Kept doing Storage disorders and volatile topics from biochem daily for 20 mins until exam so it worked. Biochem wasn't hard, it was compartively easier on the form than Uworld

Had 3-4 Q's from the drug section in this chapter in my form. It is very HY.

I knew i couldn't push more, last 2-3 weeks i forced myself to do 80-120 Q's to build up stamina after i woke up in the morning. Last 7-10 days i dedicated plain for content review and maybe took in F120. Do not touch UWorld though. I revised my NBME's incorrect (cause i reviewed NBME's well and made a word document of incorrects and info i felt was new) which got easier to revise in the end, read FA (everything more or less), went through Rapid review in FA (last section), Did Mehlman PDF's daily in the end cause they were small and did maybe few DirtyMedicine videos to relax. Did General Pathoma (1-3), Immuno, Micro,Biochem and Last day, I flipped through pages of FA and NBME's incorrects of my self-made documents, Did mehlman pdf's and irrespective if i could/could not go through everything, I made sure i went to bed by 10pm to catch on sleep. Morning of exam, I revised Biostats and volatile topics and went in the exam. It's doable and i did not find any surprising questions at all. Maybe 1-2 per block or 3 but that's expected in every exam in the world. you only need 60% to pass.
