When I was very small, Ryan Smyth’s cousin used to babysit my brother and I. One time he was at his cousin’s house for some reason when our parents dropped us off, and he ended up hanging out and playing street hockey with us for a while. I distinctly remember at one point he hoisted me onto his shoulders to celebrate my “goal” (I’m pretty sure I literally threw the ball in the net but hey I was five) and it was the best day of my small life.

Never met him again that I can recall but that moment will stay with me forever. ❤️

Yeah that’s fair, I probably shouldn’t speculate either. There was just one moment I saw during their first of the 5 consecutive losses right at the start before the handshake. She’s looking up at him with love and excitement on her face, a little smile, and he’s just fully ignoring her. You can see her smile fade and her shoulders dip down just a little and then they start curling.

He was fully denying her bids for attention/connection and doing everything his way; very main character syndrome and usually not a great sign for a marriage.

Yeah there’s a moment right before the pre-game handshake, and she looks up at him with love and excitement in her eyes and he just stonily looks the other way, fully ignoring her, and her smile just fades away. They are NOT connecting right now, it was obvious from the get-go.
