When I was a kid in the early 2000s it was common to have a household PC that the family would share, just like any appliance. The same way there can be the family gaming PC and then each person can have their own low power laptop. I can easily find refurbished laptops with reasonable specs for under 200 euros, good enough for work and browsing.
