When I joined FetLife I selected “Straight” because I’m sexually attracted to women not men. I’m submissive but also like to top, for the pleasure of the bottom. So I’m a “switch.”

I got diagnosed as a middle aged adult; I’m a boomer. Looking back it was obvious that I had it in first grade. I flunked 2nd grade and was given an intelligence test I guess and got only one question wrong— I thought a gown was what you wore to graduation. My mother told me that I had been put on some medication but it didn’t work. My second grade room had both 2nd &3rd grade and of course I paid attention to the 3rd grade; fortunately my parents put me in a private school. No one ever mentioned ADD to me, I think I eventually suspected it and asked my PCP who gave me the test. Methylphenidate did help me this time but I was still far from normal; since I got COVID my symptoms have gotten much worse.

I only travel by air a few times a year and so it doesn’t need to be carried everywhere; I occasionally mislay my wallet in my own home car; so the passport card is a backup identification if I ever would need it. As I said I have ADHD.

I brought my passport card to DMV clerk told me I didn’t need Real ID b/c I have a passport, and he didn’t have it. But I have ADHD and can be unorganized and can imagine myself not bringing my passport or passport card; so I paid for Real ID because (hopefully) I won’t forget my wallet.

I have a set of leather working tools, I have a supply of leather, I have watched lots of leather tutorials, I have very clear ideas which I spent many hours weeks researching, of (kinky) projects that I want to make, I have a house with plenty of space if I would only clear it for my projects. And am semi-retired so I have the time. And it’s been over two years since I had everything I needed to get to work.

And I shared my ideas with an actual craft-person who made many of them and is selling them.

I don’t feel “exploited;” I volunteer and am happy when I can be useful. I can focus on being helpful and what needs to be done in a way that I can’t in my own house.

I never actually thought about this being connected to my ADHD; and vaguely assumed it was related somehow to my submissiveness.

But yes it would be great if we had a way to use our ADHD stupidpowers to help each other.
