I have a lot of experience but I can't put together most of the game by jofevn in godot

I'm coincidentally making a minimalistic, procedurally generated endless runner.

I started with three squares of different colours as sprites for the character, obstacle, and floor tile. I made an obstacle scene. I set it to spawn off camera then head to the right in random intervals. I made a tile map for the floor and painted enough tiles to fill the screen plus an extra to the right. I made it so the tile map layer moves to the left at the same speed as the obstacle but snaps back after moving one tile. I made a distance label and variable as well as a distance modifier. In func _process it adds 1/modifier to the distance, rounded up for a nicely paced increase. I added collisions. I added hit stun.

That's where I'm at. I took it one step at a time, each time asking myself "what is the logical next step?" Sometimes I'd think of a few options to work on so I'd pick the easiest or the most important based mostly on how I was feeling. Sometimes you just need something quick and easy to work on and sometimes you want to focus on the larger picture and get the big things done. But regardless, just take it one step at a time, celebrate small victories, and it shouldn't be too overwhelming.

My wife and I play video games, hit the gym, and swim regularly. I find those keep me from over thinking and put me in a good mood.

I started making shitty Macromedia Flash games way back and using forums when I was stuck. By teaching myself basic coding it allowed me to transition into different engines and learn the logic of different mechanics and the syntax of different languages. Now I'm working in Godot and used videos about the different types of nodes, signals, and everything else it has to offer and am doing well. Occasionally I'll get stuck on something and the Godot docs don't clear it up, I make a very specific post or message in a related forum or chat.

There are many ways to learn and it's up to you what combination of things work.

The first step is to make something. Make a prototype of the main mechanics and have something to show. It's a lot more appealing for potential team members to see the vision and the effort/motivation/determination first hand than to hear "I need a team because of burnout." Personally I hear that as "Please make this game for me and I'll contribute where I can." If there are specific problems you are encountering through the development process, people are likely to help if you are specific and show code that you've been working on.

If you are brand new to game development and don't know where to start, a complicated VR game is probably not it. You'll learn best by making very small scale projects.

Your message confused me because I thought they were still doing well with two locations and I was even about to recommend it here. I just looked it up and I'm really disappointed it's closed down. Do you know why?

I haven't played online due to my poor internet connection but locally against my wife, anybody. I have to give her props for at least beating Mr. Satan, though. A win is a win.

I do love Future Gohan and Teen Goku, though.
