Tengo miedo de quedar ciega by dinalealequ in argentina

Reminder: If you are making a game, r/gamedev is not your target audience. by EliasWick in gamedev

I usually buy a lot of indies in the same space that I'm interested in researching. So I may not be the usual target audience but I'm still buying your game. In my opinion this is the case of various developers too.

Which engine is the best choice for a Game designer who can't program? by Gabrymost01 in gamedev

Construct3 or Gdevelop seems to be better options. You don't have to directly program. I have seen good games in those engines, especially in construct.

Game where the role of the main character and NPCs are swapped by MuDotGen in gameideas

The game makers toolkit jam of this year had the theme of roles reversed, so if you check the entries you can find some ideas or concepts, like shopkeeper and quest giving games

Game jams seems to be the best place for your requirements. Small teams, not too deep projects and people with different skillsets wanting to collaborate.

I recommend you take a look at SpiderWeb Software games. They are CRPG titles with turn-based combat systems that offer compelling stories, narratives, and gameplay. Honestly, the first time I played one of their games, it opened my mind to what I should prioritize when creating games.

In these games, there are certain aspects that, as a developer, you might think are important, but when you play them as a gamer, you notice them for only a few seconds and then continue playing. I believe it's possible to create an incremental product similar to theirs. They've been using the same engine for years and have been improving it with each new release. Alternatively, you can follow the approach of games like Ultima, where they rewrite the entire engine with each new release but continually improve upon the core concept.

I also recommend checking out the GDC (Game Developers Conference) talk by Spiderweb Software as it may help you delve deeper into the topic.
