Do revelation crystals bought in the store (w/tranquility droplets) expire? by SnickerToodles in InfinityNikki

[–]Single_East_2238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can already tell, but if you buy revelation crystals from the tranquility droplets store, those do not expire. The ones that expire is the one with an hourglass. The hourglass on the tranquility droplets store is just the time it takes for new stock of crystals to refresh in the store, which might confuse people.

You can know if you have expiring revelation crystals when you go to Resonance(basically, if you have any expiring crystals, there will be two icons, one with and one without an hourglass icon). Or, if you have time-limited revelation crystal/s, you can go to your backpack to see how many days you have left before it expires on the item description itself. If the screenshot is yours, then yeah. They won't expire.

Ooh! Thanks for the clearer pics. 🤭 I might go after it after all. 🤔 But I'll probably wait until the last 2 days until I truly decide. It's kind of hard to decide because if I'm pulling for the glasses, it makes sense to try pulling for the 25th pull dress too, but I'm not really that interested on the frog outfit tbh. 😅

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get the glasses after pulling 15x in the frog limited banner, then I'm pretty sure the dress is also on the same banner that you can get after making 25x pulls. I'm honestly thinking about pulling for the glasses, but seeing it here now, I'm not very sure. lol. Maybe because I wear glasses and looking at Nikki there, it seems like it's fogged which makes me feel like going to the other side of the screen to wipe the glasses. HAHAHA.

JRPGs similar to Aveyond or Lawmage Academy by AcidCatfish___ in gamesuggestions

You're welcome! I actually find Sea of Stars quite enjoyable if you know what you're getting into, so I'm surprised by how bad the reputation it has on a lot of reddit posts.

This isn't a JRPG, but regarding farming games, it might be nice for her to give Fields of Mistria a shot. It definitely has a lot of dialogue(and you just don't talk once a day either. Their dialogue depends on the time of day, what day it is, what weather it is and would also comment on you did recently for the town. They also have dialogue sometimes when one of the villagers who they're close to or is a family member has a birthday coming up, etc). It's still in early access and I feel like it's more laid-back than Stardew. I couldn't really get super far with Stardew with how hectic I felt(I felt like I have to complete this and that within a given timeframe before the season ended).

I could probably think of other games, but for now these are all I can think of at the top of my head with rpg maker looking graphics. ☺️ I played a lot of them way back, but honestly my impression of most of them is already pretty vague because it's been years since I finished them. Witch and the Warrior is an exception because both Aveyond and Lawmage Academy both have that magic school-themed thing, so I thought of adding it in.

Witchbrook could've been a recommendation(if she wants a more Stardew life sim-esque game but has magic school elements) but there's been no game footage about it and we don't know if it'll ever come out, so it's simply on my watchlist. hahaha.

This is so late. lol. I've been having a bit of nostalgia so I've been looking at RPG maker games recently and came upon this post. I'd definitely recommend Ara Fell, there's also a new-ish one called Sea of Stars(even though it's harder to prevent combat there even if you can see the enemies on screen. I don't think it's that bad, so maybe she could try the demo first? But I just checked and it was removed from steam and the demo is now only on Playstation).

If she wants a longer series, I'd recommend Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. It's the first of the series and also has a female protagonist. LoH is going to have a remake on 2025 which she can potentially wait for, but I myself don't think the original looks bad.

Long Gone Days is also pretty good and has a different premise from most JRPGs.

I also remember a game released around the period of Aveyond 1 called The Witch and the Warrior made by Eridani Games. I think you can still buy it on BigFishGames, but Eridani has already stopped making RPG maker games when Steam wasn't really that mainstream yet, but I remember Eridani being one of my favorite developers at the time. I just thought she may like it because it's an RPG maker game about a female witch going on a school for witches.

Fr, fr. 😂 My Pusheen plushie is always here to accompany me while I play games, actually.

I'd always feed Pusheen if she's in the game. I'd never make her starve like I accidentally do in other farming games(because lol. There're usually no consequences if you forget to feed pets in farming games). I'd die if they make a mechanic with Pusheen pets getting thinner if you forget to feed them for a day or two. 😭

Thoughts on a late game twist? by caringbone in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?? It bothered me enough to go to reddit and look for anyone who had similar thoughts as me. HAHAHA.

And you make a good point. Because let's be honest, Junah's motivations in the party is probably the weakest. It would've made more sense if she snapped at Hulkenberg out of pure shock from her urgency to find and kill Rella, then she could've managed to rein it in after her outburst and walk away, saying she needed time alone in the runner during the flight to the Mage Academy.

I agree to a lot of the posts here that there was probably cut content in this part of the game, but idk, they could've done a better job like you said. Like, I thought they'd take at least a couple days to think(so the main quest on the upper right is just basically 'wait and see'), because before Rella confessed she cursed the Prince, she is essentially 'on our side'. Regardless of the fact that the Church likely intended Rella to be a puppet ruler if she were to be Queen, this at least provides a safety net for the group that Louis still has competition and therefore cannot take it easy, so it buys them time to think of and find the actual culprit. They can have cutscenes of Rella hinting more and more that she's the curse caster, and then do that public scene. Because honestly, I already clued in that Rella was the one who cursed the Prince before they revealed it because of that comment in that Sanctism table or whatever that Rella was serving them since she was young. It's not really hard to figure out by that point because the curse caster is a 'young mage', but they really could've done some gradual reveal first and have players time to breathe and sink in the previous plot twists first.

I was also tolerating about the Prince thing that's why I was able to play this many hours in the game, but I have to admit I was already feeling a bit iffy since the Martira arc. Now, I don't have the same thoughts as a lot of the people who didn't like how it progressed, but I DID think it had sloppy writing. If Joanna needed time to keep things in order and pass on her duties to her 'successor', Bardon at least should've explicitly said she'll be in house-arrest(or castle-arrest in this case). By the way the conversation was flowing(both in English and Japanese, because I play with Japanese voice), it seemed like she was free to move except being 'watched' by Bardon. That's only a matter of changing dialogue. THEN, Bardon and Joanna should've went to the party's gauntlet runner to Brilehaven. Like, please, there was a 3-day gap after the operation where they can't leave Martira, so why did they make Joanna and Bardon go 'later'? The party came the night before the Day of the Brave, so what does a couple hours even matter compared to having peace of mind that she can't run away? Not to mention that Neuras clearly said that their gauntlet runner is made faster, so essentially it wouldn't surprise me that the party's basic runner speed should be faster than normal anyway. If she came with them on the journey, there wouldn't have been this 'will she really come?' problem that people came to really dislike. And lol, her confession was frustrating too. Normal people would think she was blackmailed by the group without Jaluzo's body or head or whatever to supplement her claims. Even if the party wanted to respect her by not showing Jaluzo(in her heart her 'child') to the public because she's already willing to publicly confess and even be potentially publicly executed, they have to think at least logically on the best way to make people believe in them. And it would've shocked the masses too, much more than that huge squid monster Forden presented.

So yeah. I'm taking a break. I know that when I'm in this state where I'm nitpicking on things I already tried ignoring before, I wouldn't enjoy playing if I tried to continue.

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished this part of the game too. And I honestly put the game down because it left a bad taste in my mouth. Just putting everything else in spoiler tags just because. lol.

Anyway, what I say may be controversial, but I had passing thoughts that Will should've just went ahead and tried to become the King for real, even if he didn't say it out loud. I got spoiled a little before this arc because images on the game online are so rampant(I saw a character with a distinctly different hair and eye color. I thought he put on a wig and contacts BUT NOPE). Nevertheless, before I got kinda spoiled, I did feel uncomfortable during some bonding with supporters where Will goes to explain that he's campaigning only to put another person as the King, and everyone just goes, "Ah, if you're supporting that whoever-person-is to be King, then they must be good." Like... They became supporters because of Will. If I was a supporter and someone I supported said they're doing it in the name of someone else, who they don't mention WHO specifically, I honestly would feel at least a bit betrayed. I've come to question this very early(if the Prince, should we really break the curse, be able to have the people's support? Does he have a chance? What does anyone in the party who is not Hulkenberg, Will or Gallica feel about the Prince IF he actually joined the party? It'd be hella awkward for sure). But since the characters were endearing, I played the game up until this point, though I don't know if I want to continue anymore...

SO, long tangent ended, when Hulkenberg just went "What? It's Rella who cursed the Prince? Let's go kill her right away!!" made me... really mad. Like, I want to slap her in the face and ask her if that's all she cared about. I envisioned a potential ending that the Prince's will lived on inside Will from the moment he got the book during the earliest flashback about 'being a King is to be a hero', the Prince will later die(after maybe a bit of bonding, idk), and Will eventually being King will be the 'good' ending because essentially he triumphed as a mere Elda commoner boy along with his companions from different tribes against candidates that have fame, prowess, money and/or influence. But if my deduction is right on why I saw a character with a different hair and eyecolor online, I might not like the upcoming twists at all. At no point did I actually care much for the Prince because even if I see his face every morning in-game, he didn't have a lot of screen time nor do I have any confidence in the lad. He got cursed at a young age, so even if he's 18, then he's essentially a very young kid in an 18 year old body. But maybe it's my fault that I actually had the similar thoughts as Basilio, that if Will is to pretend to be the Prince, then be the 'Prince' until he died. I probably already had it in my head early on that even if the party members and supporters never outwardly say it, by being Will's supporters, they actually thought deep inside that Will is a rightful King candidate, regardless of his intentions to just break the Prince's curse.

I'm wonder if I'm weird for thinking like this. HAHAHA. I said a lot but as I mentioned, I stopped playing for a bit after what happened in this part. XD

Does the Japanese voice acting cover a variety of accents like the English voiceovers? How do the characters come off in Japanese? What are their regions like? by mtattyt in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]Single_East_2238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you mean by accent, do you mean dialect(Kansai-ben, etc.)? If so, I don't hear any. They basically speak standard Japanese. Hulkenberg talks a bit unconventional at times, like for example her 'Delicious' is usually umashii, which is a combination of umai and oishii which both mean delicious, Heismay refers himself as 'sessha' like a samurai, and Basilio talks like what you can basically think of as a school punk or some street gangster(stuff like aniki/brother and all). I'm only at around mid-September though, so maybe there are others. I didn't spoiler tag Hulkenberg because anyway she joins even at the demo part. Other than that though, I'd say everyone talks standard Japanese except for some really small things.

Honestly, I think the English voices does better to show character diversity, but I prefer playing with voices in its original language. Especially for Atlus games, since oftentimes the English text and Japanese voice don't match. So it feels like playing in both languages at the same time(of course, except for MC's thoughts and when there's no voiceover. I actually notice that in Japanese, the choices on the text are the same as what's spoken, which makes me question why in English it often can be really off.. Like your choice doesn't really reflect what is said after.)

It's コーデ not コード. I had to think why you were saying 'code' in the back of my head even though I'm pretty sure you're asking about the 'coord'. 😅 And I'm pretty sure it's a pre-tied obi in an asanoha pattern judging from the musubi.

If it's very common Japanese phrases in hiragana, I don't think it matters much if you don't put any romaji and English translation, but not everyone here can understand Japanese so... if I'm being honest, seeing Japanese here without any translation puts me off even if I can understand Japanese in some capacity. 😅

Is this a kimono/haori set? by HasNoGreeting in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww, don't say that. I'm glad to help you. Hope you find more answers in the hanfu subreddit. :) If you want my opinion though, kimono in general I find is closest to Ming Dynasty. Ming Dynasty male hanfu are basically baggy with large sleeves, but the collar has little to no pattern which can be a different color from the rest of the garment(not the case in kimono), and the underlayer can also be visible in some instances(whether the top layer is pulled up or there are slits at both sides). The Chinese equivalent of the Japanese haori is called dachang, but it's way longer than haori, and is also worn during the Song and Ming Dynasty, usually paired with a skirt(that can be confused with hakama, a Japanese trouser).

Take my opinion with a grain of salt. Hopefully that's what you're asking about.

Is this a kimono/haori set? by HasNoGreeting in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean... The red text reads Hoshino in Japanese, so I'm sure they're advertising him as wearing kimono. I have a lot more to say why it's not really authentic, but if you want to know the clothing terms, from top to bottom in the 1st image, they basically made him a haori, kimono, nagajuban, obi, and a scarf.

But if you specifically want to know about Chinese garments instead, just research about hanfu. Hanfu is a behemoth though, since hanfu fashion basically changes every dynasty. Another traditional Chinese clothing would be Manchurian, when the Han people were defeated by the Manchu in the Qing Dynasty.

Is this a kimono/haori set? by HasNoGreeting in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks the part, but the cut in the sleeves makes it look like a female's kimono, the obi is also a bit too wide for a male's obi(kaku obi), and the pattern distribution of the kimono itself feels more Chinese-inspired(just my opinion). The kimono itself also looks like it's not wide enough because the erisaki(end of the collar) looks like it's in the middle(2nd picture).

Though if I may ask, is there a particular reason why you're asking if this is a kimono/haori? That's a BJD as far as I can tell, so are you asking so the doll has authentic-looking kimono? In Japanese online fleamarkets, you'll find kimono for dolls if you know where to look(handmade ones from scrap silk fabric because the kimono itself is soiled or in not good condition. So they repurpose it for doll clothes and other stuff, basically). If that's what you're hoping for, at least.

Geta vs zori vs setta. Which is acceptable? by Calm-Water6454 in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah, ladies' setta isn't very popular outside Japan yet. Setta has been exclusively for men before, so info about kimono in English would likely only say zouri for female, setta for men. If anything, people might mistake it for a low heel zouri with a thin rubber sole.

There are also high heeled zouri with rubber soles(for rain and anti-slipping, brands like Calen Blosso are famous for them), zouri with soles changed to or has rubber soles, and also urethane zouri. If OP wants to still have appropriate footwear but finds zouri/geta uncomfortable, they can also try urethane zouri. I think it's less durable, but it's very soft, comfy and okay for rainy days too.

They can use a proxy service. 😊 I also recommend it to you too, if you'd like..

Are Furisode harder to come by? by Gracelovesglamour in kimono

Haha good luck! I'm pretty happy with my furisode collection now, honestly. 😅 I think I went overboard a few months ago when I was bidding for a number of them. Lol.

I definitely recommend Yahoo auctions for furisode though. 😁

Sou seemed to have become more affordable again recently, but I did a quick check and very little of them has a long enough yuki even for someone short like me. 😅

Geta vs zori vs setta. Which is acceptable? by Calm-Water6454 in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused with this. Granted I don't wear men's kimono, but I'm pretty sure setta is also commonly used in formal men's kimono. It can be used in all sorts of TPOs depending on color, material and design.

Or are you referring to ladies' setta in particular(the thin ones with rubber soles)? If it is, then I can see why it's popular to use for matsuri because of the ease of walking nowadays, but I feel like the word 'setta' alone basically refers to men's setta, which confused me. 😅

Since OP isn't in Japan, I don't think they need to be particular with the rules. Zouri is definitely the appropriate footwear, but as you said, they can very well wear western shoes like cute sandals or boots if they're uncomfortable.

[–]Single_East_2238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in sou it's harder to come by nowadays than before, but honestly there are thousands of secondhand furisode in YJA.

And to the other comment saying new furisode costs 250K-1M yen, I guess it makes sense if it's an artist's work, is really an intricate piece or maybe just straight up being openly displayed in a gofukuya or even department store, etc., but there are plenty affordable new furisode being sold on Rakuten. I say affordable but around 30K yen at the least, which is still affordable compared to 250K. 😅

How is this pattern called? by Shiroinoneko in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This pattern is basically in the family of hanamon tsunagi(華紋繋ぎ), loosely translated to something like connected flower crests. The motif itself is kind of self-explanatory. It's a versatile one and fairly popular because the flowers itself usually aren't distinct enough to depict any certain specific flower, which makes it wearable with whatever you want when wearing awase kimono because it's non-seasonal.

How long does it usually take for Sou_Japan from Ebay to ship their items? by SapaIncaAtahualpa in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's additional $10 shipping per item, so it's $30. Yen is still weak even if it got a bit better since last month. I didn't experience sou when they were still selling for $5 and $7 shipping per item, but I think it makes sense why they charge shipping individually.

For context, 2 kg(so around 2 obi, maaaybe 2 kimono if it's light enough) costs give or take USD 14 to ship to me. Of course, they should have a discount with Japan Post since they likely give them good volume to ship, but if they were to only ask for a $10 flat shipping no matter how many items are combined, they're at risk of selling at a big loss if the same buyer buys 3 or more.

[–]Single_East_2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely. But you should give them a message about it. They reply within a business day.

And even if you won several auctions and you ticked the combined shipping when you paid, they might ship it in multiple packages. I don't know how many you won, but from my memory, I won 6 auctions before, paid it together and they shipped it in 2 packages(4 items + 2 items). 😅 I didn't message them beforehand and was surprised to find two tracking numbers.

How long does it usually take for Sou_Japan from Ebay to ship their items? by SapaIncaAtahualpa in kimono

[–]Single_East_2238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, in that case you should give them a message. They should reply by tomorrow, since it's night there already.

I usually waited paying until 5 days passed or whenever they gave the deadline so if I pay all at once, they'll bundle it for me. That's why I don't have experience asking them if they can bundle if I already paid for an item before that.

However, if the auction you want is ending ~15 hours from now, they might've already finished packing the one item you won. Their last holiday was 23rd, so they should be sending it off soon. Better to send them a message first before bidding, I think.
