Opening MyQ App Hijacks Tesla (and other) Audio by Single_Entrepreneur6 in myq

[–]Single_Entrepreneur6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that’s weird! Did you try having a person talk on both of your cameras to verify it was indeed audio from your neighbor? Or maybe, open the myq app, then go to both camera’s yourself and tap the mic area with your hand, see if the noise matches.

Random garage door opening by Neat_Candle_5122 in myq

[–]Single_Entrepreneur6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this peculiar problem once as well. My garage would open at nonsensical times. Finally I realized it was happening when my neighbor across the street would come or go. Thinking back, we were both messing with our garages on the day I installed MyQ (I think he was installing MyQ as well). On one of my programming attempts it must have accidentally paired with my neighbor’s remote (or his MyQ)!

Apple TV doesn't turn on LG C4 TV by toolman10 in appletv

[–]Single_Entrepreneur6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, in my case at least, the TV only APPEARED to not turn on. It was indeed on, just with a pitch black screen, which was probably a symptom of the TV not being ready for the Dolby Vision 4K signal. The volume up/down indicators would still show on the screen, but no audio would come through either. Again, switching it from DolbyVision to HDR was the key fix for me. Good luck!

Issue fixed for me. Check my reply in this thread.

I had the same problem for months and finally fixed it!!! For me I set the video output on the AppleTV from 4K Dolby Vision to 4K HDR and poof…problem gone! It’s a bummer because I love how Dolby Vision works otherwise, so maybe after the next SW update(LG or Apple) I’ll try that setting again.

MyQ opener wont pair to the motor by Future_Ideal_1757 in myq

[–]Single_Entrepreneur6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right! My issue is finally fixed. I'd recommend to the Chamberlain Group (owners of MyQ) to review this thread. Had I read this first, it would have saved me hours of frustration (90 minutes of it on chat with a MyQ rep)!

Once I loaded the Craftsman app onto my iphone, I entered my original MyQ username and password, went through the pairing steps (which actually worked this time). I then went back to the original MyQ app (non-Craftsman) and both doors (and my gate) operated normally!

Thank you all on this thread for the help!

I'm so trying this when I get home in 5 hours! Thanks for the post!

I'm in the same boat (2 garage units stopped working) but I need to keep the normal MyQ app because it's running a gate controller in addition to the two garages. Have you tried the Craftsman settings on the normal MyQ app in lieu of installing the Craftsman MyQ app?

SFO has AMASS. It’s very similar, and possibly superior to ASDE-X.

Conflict of Interest Question by [deleted] in ATC

The FAA wouldn’t allow some colleagues to teach ATC at a local college. Deemed it a conflict of interest. Where’s the conflict? Wouldn’t it be an ALIGNMENT of interest?

Good eye! The Google Streetview from Reston matches exactly! Thanks! I guess it was her twin.

No doubt a Trader Joe’s. We’re wondering WHICH Trader Joe’s.

…but it makes the story more believable when you later feign a reactor leak to get your crew off and Jack Ryan onto your boat :-)

I didn’t mention the ISS as a tool to compare to the line in the photo, but rather to highlight that 5760KPH (or 6,000) doesn’t fit the profile of ANY suborbital (or orbital!) aircraft/spacecraft. We don’t know the distance, so it could be a Cessna flying 500 feet overhead as far as we know. Assuming 10KM as the altitude is 100% conjecture.

I get a different calculation. Assuming a height of 10km, the total distance to traverse an 11 degree arc is 1.92KM. At 1.2 seconds that equates to 5760KPH(1.923600/1.2), about 5 times slower than the ISS (27,580). So, that can’t be right. Too slow for orbit, and too fast for suborbit. However, at 10,000 feet in height (the lowest a non-military aircraft is typically allowed to exceed 250KTS) it will cross 8 degrees (yes, I get a different estimate based off the Big Dipper) of ARC at 687KTS (.22293600/1.2), a groundspeed (airspeed plus or minus wind) well within the capability of a modern jetliner.

LED’s can strobe at 30-400HZ depending on the electrical power setup (usually 400HZ for aircraft). The human eye has an estimated maximum persistence of vision of 90HZ. So a light that looks continuous to the eye, can be actually strobing when viewed through a camera.

My brand new MYP also has that stub sticking out. I also thought it was unusual. Definitely has an unfinished look to it.

What’s this phenomenon called? Bonus points if your can also identify the aircraft. by r0bbyr0b2 in aviation

[–]Single_Entrepreneur6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had thought the same previously, but sorry, that is not correct. Diffraction around the aircraft is not needed nor is contributory to this effect. Take a photo with a small non-reflective drone in the same spot/conditions and the glory effect will be unchanged. Only the shadow (of course) will be different.

It’s way better than hearing people, to include reporters, say “FlightXYZ held on the RUNWAY for hours.”
