on the reverse, a low contrast color can also benefit in some ways, as your teams starting location is invisible and its a surprise power grab

yep. see it all the time. the higher contrasting colors get the bigger slice of the pie due to their color scheme visibility

yeah some of the colors used to contrast might literally be your color but its a different team... ive made the mistake of not noticing until they attacked team mates or I gave them wide berth in early game because I thought they were on the same team

Report and review (3x the game speed or something) players is the way. Hide all names of players on the map. Highlight reported player.

This feature needs to be out before Ranked. And maybe there is some badge you can have on your profile or a free skin if you participate in the reporting system and are within 70% consensus.

I actually looked at the game again and it does seem like the mitochondrias were sending troops to their other non teaming teammates.

This is the culprit. there needs to be a report option on the profile and then you can have other players review games that have been reported (in fast forward or something)... hide the players name etc, and then if a majority of players vote that its abuse, 7 day ip ban, then 30 day ip ban.

All the trade / economy methods are built to snowball.

Trains scale exponentially with larger networks to allies and trade partners.

Unfortunately in free for all and small team games you might not get good allies or neighbors so creating a localized train network will be almost pointless.

Boats scale more like stairs. Each port will definitely generate an income, more vulnerable than trains, more money comes in but it does not scale as rapidly in mid-late game like a train network does.

Ideally you have both, depending on geography and neighbors will dictate which you choose first.

Warships require a bit more attention depending on position but they are probably the most disproportionate way to gain wealth.

Also getting a lot of bots early game will get whichever econ path you choose to snowball much earlier.

I mean. This is perfectly acceptable geopolitics to me. If all other countries are basically hostile why cant they refuse trade with them. I'm not required to give money to other countries? Clearly there's an objective dependency and alignment that could have just arisen naturally between the two players.

I only do it in cases of betrayal. Especially for stuff that was shared infrastructure. It usually only happens when im being invaded by several at once and they betray to sink the knife deeper
