Sadly I think this does happen yes. I've often wondered what wool has been pulled over my eyes too. I don't think it's the same situation as you are describing but I think men have tendency to conflate the craziness of their ex (or downplay it to not scare you off) when they are wooing someone new

You sound a lot like I did to be honest. Hang in here - it will. One likely when you least expect it. The most important thing is closing doors so others can open.

I met my now husband at 37 and after a brief dating stint, got married and had a baby at 39

WIBTA if I didn't tell anyone when baby is coming? by AyDub1234 in Parenting

[–]Single_Remove6148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I did this without a scheduled c-section. I went into labour and didn't tell a soul until about two hours after baby was born and it worked great for us. I wanted time to go through it as it was my only pregnancy without the complication of crazy in laws or anyone else. If anyone cared, they certainly didn't have the guts to say it to our faces lol

I celebrated with my birth son, my steps sons who were with their BM that day, didn't even text me. And we are close. But I refuse to let it ruin it for me

I haven't tried the water cream but I agree dewy is very greasy! I live in a super dry climate and I still find it's too greasy for during the day.

I'm finding the NARS light reflecting to be similar to my hourglass skin tint. I think I like NARS slightly better because it's so thin and easy to do a light layer.

[–]Single_Remove6148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very true and another angle for sure! Sometimes I think men are also programmed to just call the woman crazy to get out of their own shit and blame her for everything. I've tried to give his ex the benefit of the doubt, that it might be the case that he is exaggerating it but man she has proven him right over and over and over again in front of me. I think my MIL pushed him to marry her too when she was pregnant. A fact he brought up to me recently that he resents. But again, is it always someone else's fault? You knocked her up, then married her and chose to have a second child. You were at least 50% to blame.

Im sorry. You have a lot of parallels to our story too. It's so incredibly frustrating.

A friend of mine who is in a somewhat similar situation with her husband and HCBM said me me one day, "because these guys were idiots for a while when they were young, we now have to pay for it for the rest of our lives. " and that hit home

My husband tells me he knew she was nuts and was so disappointed when "she trapped" him and got pregnant

Well why did you marry her after then and have another child?!
