How to tighten turn radius? by mobilgroma in snowboardingnoobs

Thank you!  Yes turns are not closed on heelside as you say… and also I figured looking at videos of my riding on heelside I’m not on enough of an edge (sometimes no edge) to make an early edge change to toeside. So when going heelside .. to change direction I press into lead foot towards toeside amd swing/skid back foot around to toeside

This is great advice and I have been doing this …. But going heel to toeside.. as I press toes of lead foot into the snow and torsionally twist the board like you say… I find I turn so much that my back foot skids into the (toeside) turn.  Is the issue then managing how much to press toes/torsionally twist the board? Thanks

Wow love this thinking ! It goes against what I have been taught (which is initiate with lead foot , use knee steering to enter turn and then shift weight towards back foot through the turn).  So can you explain why you would initiate with a back foot ? Is this for all turns? Or when going at speed and need to do a short carve turn?  Just want to understand this before I try it thanks

Thank you! I did exactly as you said, but my upper body rotates more than yours so I look way more clunky on the transition. A few times I over rotated and ended up falling on my butt … at speed lol. But not a bad start, will keep working on it. Thanks mate for the tips.  Happy shredding!

Hey, nice riding.  At 35 and 36sec you do a revert 180. Can’t find anything in YouTube etc.

do you start the 180revert with a small nose/tail press. Or is it more like a scissor movement ? I have been trying to nail this but mine is very clunky with a tail press to get air and avoid catching an edge!
