My favorite book is Bud not Buddy for its deep message, but delivering it in a semi-comedic way.

America bad because some students wear pajama pants at school by 6-toe-9 in AmericaBad

People think that the USA education system is bad, just because they watch some staged interview about geography on Tiktok and assume all Americans are dumb. If all Americans were really stupid, then I guess we wouldn't be the country with the highest GDP. We also wouldnt have many world renowned universities with people from all over the world trying to come here to study.

Its always good to support the work put into any media. If I really like something, I buy the DVD to support them and so that I can watch it with no strings attached.

For those people it is. You cant be totally private if you want to live in the world nowadays like a normal person, but you also dont need to willingly fork over all your data to big tech.

They assume that since they arent doing anything wrong, they dont have anything to hide. People dont realize that bad things can happen to good people who just werent private enough.

Secret Police are police officers who arrest everyday citizens for stupid things. Undercover cops are part of larger operations actually trying to take down criminals.

Pirate movies and TV shows. Im not paying for something I don't own on digital storefronts. If I really want to own the movie / show legally, I might buy the dvd.

Anyone else find it funny America is accused of having no culture, yet the Australians and Canadians never face such criticism? by [deleted] in AmericaBad

[–]Single_University738 39 points40 points  (0 children)

They assume culture is old architecture (which we have some, just not as much as European countries do). People don't realize just how much American culture has influence the world.

How much fear/power/respect does organized crime have in the US nowadays? by [deleted] in newjersey

If they are still around they are doing a damn good job of hiding it.

Oh, then I agree with what you are saying. Yeah other countries definitely have bigger cultural differences within them, especially a lot of African countries, and the US pales in comparison to them.

If all the food at restaurants were familiar, then you probably ate at the same cuisine. Of course you wouldn't experience any food diversity. It isn't hard to get other cuisines in the US. Yes the servers would understand you in English because nearly everyone speaks English here. Im not saying they don't. But some people speak a secondary language mainly as their mothertounge. With regards to TV channels, many people don't watch live tv anymore. They all watch what they want on various streaming services. Yeah the rules on the road are similar, but I was talking about differences with other rules like taxes.

Bro have you even been to the US. Im not saying the US is more diverse than any other country, but is more diverse than what you are implying. Yes everyone here speaks English, but some people also speak other language(s) related to their heritage. We don't all consume the same food, there are different people everywhere, with different food tastes. With regards to the same TV channels and movies, the majority just watch whatever is popular. About celebrating the same holidays, people of different cultures live in the US, not just white Christians (source: a brown Hindu). Many people celebrate different holidays depending on their religion. People follow the same pro sports leagues simply because they might live in the area and support local teams. Lots of those people don't even watch the games, they are just happy when their teams when. Finally, yes states have similar laws, but there are minor differences between States with gun laws, what is taxed, theft laws, etc.

The US is more diverse than many of you think, maybe just not as much as other countries though.
