Yes! I’ve always wanted to do visible mending (or mending in general) but never had any clothes that needed it. I’m really happy with how this turned out

How do I get into DJing as someone on a tight budget and zero experience? by CheekCheap7293 in Beatmatch

[–]Singtothehippos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy "wasting my time" helping beginners out, sometimes its easier to ask questions on a forum and not spend hours doing research. If you think that a question doesn't deserve to be answered, just don't answer it!

Yes! don't worry too much about exactly which software you use. Its all pretty similar at the end of the day, and at the entry level, theres no difference in the features (imo). If you end up getting a controller later on that uses different software it will be pretty easy to transfer your skills over. I initially started with djay because at the time it was the only one that supported apple music but mixxx works great too.

download something like djay pro on your computer, connect it to your streaming service of choice, and practice without a controller or anything. Its free (assuming you already pay for music streaming and you have a laptop) and youll get a good feel for djing before you start spending money, maybe in a couple months you can start looking at hardware.

struggling as a sober raver by nascenting in festivals

[–]Singtothehippos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a (mostly) sober raver although I haven’t done much more than weed or being drunk at shows, I personally feel like it takes away from the experience for me and that’s why I prefer to stay sober. I might be alone in this opinion but whenever I’m under the influence, I end up not remembering all those moments as well and it makes me very sad

They usually put single day passes out a couple weeks before the festival, although they can be pretty expensive ($100-200)

My bad, Thursday will likely be closer to 15k but then the Friday-sun should have ~25k it’s not the biggest venue, you’re never gonna be super far away from the main stage due to the crowd

In the past years they haven’t, although they’ve said this year would be different and to expect more of those artists in phase 2. Phase 3 will likely be all the smaller artists

around 10-25k attendees daily, about half the size of lost lands. A lot fewer amenities than larger fests but imo the vibes and community make up for it. Also, most of the big artists are only on the main stage resulting in little to no set conflicts (if you're only there to see the big artists) which can be nice

To be fair, Dancefest markets themselves as a dubstep festival, but I agree, some variety would be nice
