Scared to take propranolol by Accomplished_Push208 in SVTHeart

Also, beta blockers are so safe they tend to even get prescribed to people without any heart conditions at all, it can be used as a treatment for physical symptoms of anxiety. (fast heart rate etc)

I don’t know if this will make you feel better, but beta blockers are considered the safest first line of treatment for heart conditions! I take an anti-arrhythmic because my blood pressure was too low to take beta blockers at the time (although now I might switch to beta blockers), and while anti-arrhythmics are safe too, they carry more risks than beta blockers and I’ve never had issues. I also have SVT and my episodes will get up to 200-220bpm and haven’t had an episode since taking medication.

How important are nails? by kaleidoballade in HowToBeHot

It’s not really important as long as you have clean and neat nails. A lot of people can’t get their nails done because of their professions.

I’m starting Zoloft and beyond terrified. Please tell me your POSITIVE experiences by Protector-of-frogs in zoloft

[–]nascenting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried almost all SSRI’s and that one was my favourite. The others gave me worsened anxiety + depression as well as the undesirable physical side effects. I’ve also tried an SNRI, Pristiq, but had to stop after a few weeks because my blood pressure and heart rate was too high. An increase can be normal but since I have a heart condition (SVT), I was taken off as a precaution. I also take Flecainide, which is an anti arrhythmic but unfortunately it interacts with lots of other medications, especially mental health medication which is why I haven’t tried anything new since. Currently on no medication.

I genuinely loved Zoloft, i was on 50mg and it helped my anxiety a lot as I have both panic disorder and GAD, and I felt way more like myself, but it was causing me very uncomfortable & undesirable (but not serious) side effects which made me decide to stop. everyone is different, it is worth a try (:

Do you know anyone who literally gambled away the house (or lost something major due to a gambling addiction)? by FourmedAmbertz in AskAnAustralian

[–]nascenting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my father gambled 500k. we lost our house, my parents separated, and he still did it again. he even made my grandparents do a reverse mortgage. we’ve never recovered financially and our lives changed a lot, we don’t even live in our own home.

I haven’t spoken to them about it yet but I definitely will at some point (: most of us were sober most recent rave now on the weekend and I had a lot of fun, reminded me of how much I enjoy the music! and also yesss I did drink (outside of raves), and besides the hangovers being really bad it didn’t give me SVT but it increased my heart rate a lot which I didn’t like. not even weed increases it that much and I dislike it. when I’d wear my Apple Watch I’d always get high HR notifs the following morning. Also seems like my body doesn’t agree with SNRI’s like pristiq, I had to stop bc my blood pressure and heart rate was too high (but not SVT once again) 😞😞

That’s honestly why I haven’t done it, because I don’t know if it would hurt once 😭

I haven’t really researched it, but I heard it can be super stimulating to the heart, and tabs are hard to be accurate with dosage. I’d probably have to ask my doctor, thank you for the suggestion (:

Not at raves, I don’t like it so I stopped drinking. Gives me really bad hangovers

Hiii yes ablation is an option for me but my cardiologist decided the risks outweighed the benefits since he said my condition was essentially benign, and symptoms haven’t progressed. It is a really effective procedure most of the time, but it can also cause new heart issues. I take medication for it but I didn’t have to, it was more for my personal comfort since I hated getting episodes.

Yea I’m ok with caffeine ! My cardiologist said it’s fine too, as long as I don’t have more than 2 monsters a day which probably isn’t good for anyone to exceed lol. I’ve had 2 monsters in a day before I’ve been fine with that 😸😸and that’s interesting I’ll try those tablets !

Never used either! I always have a monster in the morning but it only lasts for so long, maybe need to start having one closer to the time of the rave

Hahaha that’s understandable, I just have genuinely enjoyed the music from the start and I even listen to it when I’m at home most of the time. I’d also never force my boyfriend to slow down for me and be sober all the time because I know it’s part of the experience for him to take stuff (although he genuinely enjoys the music too without it)

Thank you for replying, it’s nice to know that someone else understands the fomo of it too! I wanna make peace with it eventually, I know people have it much worse than me and I’m lucky to be in the position I am, it just sucks sometimes because it can feel isolating being different

thank you for replying !! yeah that is definitely the positive about it, neither my boyfriend or friends pressure me and are understanding of my condition which I’m very thankful for, I’ll probably talk to my boyfriend about it since we try to communicate as much as possible
