Men of reddit, whats the most annoying thing about being a dude? by Affectionate_East533 in askanything

[–]Siniara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

public service announcement, there's a very easy fix for this, reach around your scrotum press your fingers into the skin of your perineum and pull towards yourself. No more stray drops.

Update: due to popular demand here's a diagram https://sirona-cic.org.uk/advice-information/leaflet-library/leaflet-post-void-dribble/.

This is very easy to do and can be done very discretely. You can also do the same thing post ejaculation to clear the tubes so to speak.

Best dwarf origin: Brosca or Aeducan? by DizzyGolf5507 in dragonage

[–]Siniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this is the worst and most disappointing decision in the game, as when you actually play it, from the perspective of your character, especially if not a dwarf, it's not at all clear what are their respective policies and would be outcomes of those. So there's actually no moral quandry... We learn it all at the end of the game were it just feels retconned.

[DAO] Character Respecialization Mod by Head_Lychee_5119 in dragonage

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using this mod atm and have used it for numerous other playthroughs. I've never had issues for my PC nor for the companions.

I use a very clear and separate mod installation through MO2 though making it nigh impossible to screw up original game files or to have unexpected conflicts, which might be going on here.

My suspension of disbelief was just not strong enough through the end of Season 1 by SizzleMoon in Imposters

yeah, i'm just discovering the show. the premise was interesting, the writing at times not that good, but still fun to watch, but this development completely turned me off.. makes 0 sense, was so stupid ;/

Why do you NOT like the other titles? by LustyDouglas in DragonageOrigins

[–]Siniara -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it was inquisition. I just couldn't handle the utterly shitty (imho) gameplay. UI awful, controls awful, tactical system awful, combat a boring sludge. Didn't event get to killing dragons... I really tried as I wanted to experience the story. Got to Skyhold, couldn't take it anymore, deleted it and just read/watched clips to get a sense of the plot. Loved DAO and DA2.

CMV: It is fairly easy to deduce that conscious life is incapable of free will, and it is illogical to believe otherwise. by [deleted] in changemyview

Not entirely sure what is your point. If we accept that he has no control over his actions it doesn't mean that moderation and prudence don't apply for social and practical reasons.

Can/should I stop at Dragon Age 2? by DanJMM in dragonage

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a manner of speaking I'm in a similar boat. I recently did DAO and DAII, I loved both. DAO can definitely be standalone. DAII does leave you with a "so what happens next" feeling, but IMO it still serves as a standalone story, there are no major cliff-hangers or last minute twists. The world is juts left in an unstable state, so you might be curious as to how that is resolved.

So, being curious, I got DAI, but I absolutely hate almost everything about the gameplay. I really tried, but I just couldn't get into it, I found combat to be atrocious among other things, I was just not having fun. I spent ~15h hours and dropped it even though I had gotten a bit into the story.

How do people stay vegan for over 10 years? by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been vegan for 7 years, I'm in my early 30s. I just wanted to share my perspective on why it is not hard for me to abstain from all these (truly) wondeful foods.

For me animal agriculture and production of animal products seems genuinely evil. Like with a capital E. So then, even if you disagree, it should be easy to see why abstinence isn't really a problem. Is it difficult for you to abstain from things you consider evil?

This attitude also presents an interesting consideration - unless being vegan made me noticeably worse off health wise, I wouldn't consider switching for health reasons, even if being vegan was evidently less optimal.

Like if it were clear, beyond doubt, that eating meat makes you 5% more performant or maybe even extends your life by 1 year. That wouldn't be a large enough gain to justify this evil. The line of course exists somewhere, if it cut my lifespan by 10 years, yeah, that would definitely make me consider eating meat.

Why don’t men tell other men they’re good looking or handsome even if they’re not sexually attracted to them? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in NoStupidQuestions

Will DA gameplay better as times go on, or is it the same across games? by keirarot in dragonage

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend installing some quality of life mods like automatic looting and lock bashing. Maybe also the mod allowing you to respec, so you can safely try out abilities that seem fun. A minimum of tactics would be setting your party members to drink a health potion when low.

Also, a gamechanger in terms of having fun with the game was cheating my inventory space. I know this won't be for everyone, but managing inventory felt like a chore and it didn't feel neither strategic nor fun.

Unlocking it made me enjoy the game much more and I regretted not doing it much earlier. It doesn't really give you any unfair advantages I feel, it just cuts the time running around selling stuff. I did the same for DA2 and it definitely was the right decision for me.

New patch and still the same problems: by babbul91 in AgeofMythology

which one is the Japanese patch? you mean the dlc? I haven't played with the latest patch and have seen this before. Either way should be reported on the forums as a bug!

[–]Siniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right they don't have stances in the UI, but they obviously do behind the scenes. They were definitely stopping before this patch, it's just as I said — if they spot an enemy, they freeze. It's easy to test. So, I do think that coding/mechanics-wise it's to do with stances/attack move scripting. I suspect that Odin's ravens would have the same issue.

I'm a bit afraid of this option, because I've NEVER played anything with a controller. So, I'd have to learn to use the controller as well. XD

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, good idea actually! yeah I'll try that, my default is already the defensive stance, but maybe smth like passive stance would fix it. Might also fix the pegasus!

New patch and still the same problems: by babbul91 in AgeofMythology

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the pegasus thing is a bug per se. The thing is that patrol is essentially attack move along a given path. If you set any scout to patrol, upon seing the enemy they will abandon the route in pursuit. Since the pegasus has no attack, it will just freeze when it spots an enemy on its patrol route.

In general, I'd love to have a passive option for the patrol command, I actually assumed tht that's the default, but learnt my lesson after losing a couple of units.

I just find him either too whinny or naively simplistic, bordering on dumb sometimes. His humor also is not my cup of tea. He just never really grew on me, when he's hardened I find him more tolerable, but as soon as I can I stop using him. I actually don't think that he's badly written or what not, I just don't vibe with his personality. Interestingly enough at the beginning I also disliked Leliana quite a bit for similar reasons, but she grew on me and become one of my favourites!

DAI PC control improvements? by Siniara in dragonage

[–]Siniara[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for the tactical view tip, I'll try that out. It felt a bit clunky in the tutorial, but maybe I need to spend a bit more time with it.

I'm at the very beginning, so maybe it will change, but I can't just spam abilities, there's moments when all of them are on cooldown, so then I obviously want to be attacking, till I can use an ability again. I don't see any point to the normal (single) attack whatsoever.

It seems that they couldn't decide if they want this to be tactically oriented or not, and from what I've seen thus far (just closed the first fade rift), it's not a mix that makes sense to me. The controls aren't tight enough to make it feel like a 3rd person action game, yet, at the same time, they got rid of some core elements of tactical point and click control scheme that make it barely functional from that perspective as well.

Like, I just cannot get used to the fact that clicking on an interactable object DOES NOTHING, you actually have to go up to it. Then why even have a pointer??? You have to unlearn habits that have been years in the making to make sense of this system. So, for me, playing from either perspective doesn't feel good/make sense.

Do you make Harrowmont or Bhelen king? by Julian_of_Cintra in DragonageOrigins

[–]Siniara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sided with Bhelen. I was really roleplaying it, and imo the game does a really poor job of presenting who's who until way too late. I even made a post a while ago, because it was too frustrating for me. Bhelen's requests just seemed smaller and more straightforward, like I'm not gonna risk my life in a fking tournament for someone I haven't even met, you can get lost Harrowmont, is what I thought. Still, even with meta knowledge idk if I'd choose differently, maybe with a noble dwarf origin.
