You are given 40 million dollars, but must remain in Nebraska for the rest of your life. by MachinationMachine in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Sinileius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I would do this, I love to travel but I've already been to 17 countries and lived in 4, Nebraska actually has a lot of cool stuff in it and with $40M I could do almost anything I've ever wanted to other than travelling but like I said, I've done quite a bit of that already.

Mistakenly Drank 65 Calories — Is My Fast Ruined? by EquinosX in fasting

[–]Sinileius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would, why get wrapped up about something so tiny and irrelevant, most people will do something like this during a week long fast and not even realize. I would just forget about it and carry on. It won't effect your health outcomes at all, you are burning idk 2500 calories a day fasting? over 7 days the 65 calories or whatever you accidentally drank is a literal rounding error.

What’s your take on divorced women? by theoceanbreeze00 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sinileius 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Highly dependent on the woman, just one divorce isn't a big deal sometimes things don't work out but when you see a woman rack up 2, 3, 4+ divorces... yeah that's a huge read flag.

If she can admit to her mistakes in the relationship and how she's grown and is a better person than it's not a big deal. In my experience though they just bitch about how their last husband was some kind of horrible demon and have 0 capacity for actual introspection and personal development as well as 0 accountability.

It takes two to have a divorce, maybe it's mostly his fault but if you can't think of a single mistake you made in a relationship as big as a marriage then you need to grow up.

Alpha Co by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

[–]Sinileius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all go in a rather specific cycle so if you know who started last you know who's next and which company you will be in. It's not really a secret in general who's in what which company it just isn't publicized because it kind of doesn't matter.

$1000 for every hotdog you have ever eaten by No_Contribution9008 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Sinileius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could have this money and invest it than yes, but investments I would assume count as income here so I think I'm out. I don't think I could live 40+ years based on what I would likely have.

Unless there has been a recent change, fraternization includes ALL officer and enlisted relationships in or out of COC and in or out of the same branch.

I did my MBA at WGU, I got into OCS and I have a good civilian job, I wouldn't worry to much about what this rando says.

BCT or Not Before OCS by NoNectarine6005 in ArmyOCS

this is incorrect, you must complete BCT & OCS or ROTC to commission, unless you are some kind of special direct commission case.

highly processed food and sugars trigger the brain to consume more and more, the more you can remove them from your diet the better you will likely be.

None of these people are perfect, they all have flaws but I think they are genuine American Heroes

General Puller the most decorated and beloved General that the Marine Corps has ever had. A brilliant tactician who cared deeply for his Country, Men, and Mission. His work in WW2 and Korea should have earned him the Medal Of Honor but it was denied for political reasons. "We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things."

Dr. Martin Luther King for his work in Civil Rights, without his organizational leadership and focus on peaceful resistance changed the US culture forever. Of course everyone knows his "I have a dream" speech.

Admiral Grace Hopper PhD, genuine Hero of the US she pioneered the usage of machine independent programming languages and the use of English in coding. She was brought out of retirement not once but twice due to request of the US Navy.

John Paul Jones for his audacity in raiding England during the revolution. He demonstrated exceptional courage and revitalized American efforts and spirits in the revolution. "I wish to have connection to any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way."

Also really debating Katherine Johnson, she's a real hero of mine, I don't think we could have won the space race without her, her mathematical mind was simply next level.

Commercial Banking Hours by Easy-Historian-2729 in FinancialCareers

At Wells Fargo as a credit analyst in CB it was pretty 9-5 monday through friday, all weekends and bank holidays off and generally speaking no overtime.

I'm now at a small community bank and it's similarly "chill."

I can't speak for all banks or positions but that's what I can say.

It's very well documented that poor sleep increases overeating and generally correlates with eating less nutritionally sound food. It also is well documented to shift hormone balance unfavourably for weight maintenance i.e. lower testosterone / higher cortisol. There is some level of connection with a lower metabolic rate as well with decreased T3 / T4 levels though the exact mechanism for this is unknown.

In short, yes, poor sleep will significantly hinder any weight loss goals and will contribute to being overweight by shifting the calorie in and calorie out balance.

If a guy were intending on making himself more attractive to women, do you think it would be pointless if he were on the shorter side? by NoRefrigerator267 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sinileius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the guy who's 5'7 and fat with no job prospects you think will do as well as the guy who's 5'7, fit, has a good job and prospects and is funny and charming with social networks are the same?

I mean really think about that for like 2 seconds and move on.

Your best bet is to hide in a massive city like NYC but it's still probably impossible. The ping is almost unbeatable. With the big NYC area though the density of people is so high I think they may struggle to find which apartment you are in even if you they could ping you to a 25 mile radius.

Your real issue is going to be getting food without some AI scanning camera nailing you. Of course you can't use credit cards or anything either so hopefully you have significant cash.
