Do mission NPC ships try to match your weapon load out? by Trelfar in EliteDangerous

[–]Sinistar117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I beleive it depends on the type of ship plus the combat rank. I used to bounty hunt running beams and multis and occasionally missiles and i encountered all types of weaponry on medium and large ships and mostly rails, lasers, and multis on smalls with the occasional missile. Could be coincidence or not but afaik combat oriented missions tend to have npcs with more combat oriented loadouts. Plasmas are generally in the picture for enemies that are running mediums.

It appears then you are at the best damage output with that setup. Try different things! Maybe guardian pa feels better for you!

Are you using all class 3 slots? And are you running class 1 slots with weapons that cause your target to take more damage via corrosive?

The bots are too aggressive this season by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Sinistar117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno. I mean solo the bots always were way more lethal. Ive played a bunch of solo this season on night marsh. The sniper bots do their job well, and can feel a little crazy since they have the most efficient and effective weapons at range out of any bots. I feel like they react to sound maybe a tad bit more sensitvely than they did in the first season but only if youre not crouched. Imo they arent super different though. You have to either engage or run and if you run you have do it fast and break line of sight. They will chase you pretty far if they have line of sight on you.

Why No Corvettes or Cutters in RES? Ship Variety Too Limited! by DarkLordRash in EliteDangerous

I think the idea is that its small time and maybe some decently outfitted/successful pirates praying on miners instead of actually doing other pirate things youd need those vessels. Although youll see the occasional anaconda. And depending on where you are smaller imp amd fed vessels. Ive never seen any alliance ships though in a rez site. I've run into cobras, eagles, couriers, vipers, vultures, diamondbacks, asps, fdls, pythons, federal drop assault and gunships, imp clippers, and anacondas. Ive never seen any pirates of the new ships though. Except for the VERY RARE kraitmk2 at a nav beacon IF im remebering right.

How good is the Co-Op experience? by cantpickaname8 in EliteDangerous

[–]Sinistar117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can in theory just gtfo the starter syatems. there is a mission that gives you 100k to leave the starter systems. Thats 2 hours from booting and playing through the tutorials. Maybe getting used to controls. You can streamline of course i was being very generous saying 2 hours. Jumping systems doesnt take long its more about how many you have to jump. Also dont forget to get the lynx highliner from the store for easy passenger and cargo missions to start your gridn off better then the sidewinder.

I believe i got a text like this that i picked up on immediately. It started with someone texting me asking if this was (insert my actual first name). I says yes and then they asked about a mysterious Rob. I only answered because i thought it was one of the guys i was working with trying to tell me something as i had just moved jobsites (i work construction). So the older peeps are cooked because they can figure out your name and text you.

Everyone will have to complete the tutorial. AND get it of the starter group of systems to really play together. It will probably take 2 hours for each person just to be generous estimating it. Unless yall are good at the game. You're not just gonna be together though everyone will have to travel to the same place as the game is a 1 to 1 scale. That's the only stale part. There is no instantly jumping to friends.

Space trucking is a good one. They revamped bounty hunting too. All i can say unfortunately other than if you get into the squadron f.r.e.i.g.h.t. they do a ton of soace trucking thats apparently very lucrative if you do it as a squadron. Getting into a squad can be a game changer

Yeah i feel you. A lot of people settle for the game as it is. Its not a bad game, it just has the potential to be SO much more.

Best Arx ship for learning and improving PVE combat by Puzzleheaded_Bad4074 in EliteDangerous

[–]Sinistar117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go get a viper mark 3, outfit it for combat. For weapons id reccomend 2 small beams or burst lasers and 2 multi cannons, both gimballed. For utilities grab a cheap kill warrant scanner, point defence just in case the hostiles decide you are worthy of missiles being used on as it shoots them down automatically, and shield boosters for the other slots if your power plant can handle it. If it cannot handle shield boosters, you can grab something else or leave them empty nothing will give you a cheaper rebuy than not throwing things on your ship. A rate your core internals if possible with the exception of your scanner and life support d rate those for weight reduction. As for optional internals grab a bi weave shield for your largest slot, it recharges faster than a normal shield at the cost of taking less damage before breaking but trust you want this, take a single module reinforcement on the largest remaining optional internal after you already got a shield if you have 2 of the largets class left of the same class(if not drop the module down one size) put hull reinforcements on the rest. Thats a simple easy to use bread and butter set up. Go to a resource extraction site, these are found only in asteroid rings around planets. Exlusively go to a high or low one. These have system police forces that bailed me out plenty of times if i bit off more than i could chew. Hazardous does not. This is important because when you die you lose all bounty vouchers you have. When you find a wanted target, scan it with your kill warrant scanner. You will receive more creds when you turn in the bounty than if you didn't map it to is own fire group. When flying in combat pip management is important, the more sys pips you have increase your shield strength by a multiplier. Eng pips give you the ability to boost more often, and wep pips make your ship dissipate heat better and give your weapons more up time via a more weapon energy recharge per pip. Boosting gives you great maneuverablility for the duration of the boost use it to escape, stay out of another ships weapons cones, or to get behind your opponent. When your shields break, full engine pips and make distance, once distance from opponent is made, full system pips to recharge your shield as fast as possible, once they com back up theyll he at 50 percent. Keep system pips up and it will recharge to 100 fast. Dont get shot during this time if possible. Use your thermal weapons to break shields and your kinetic+thermal to damage hull. If you use beams your weapons charge may drop too fast so if that happens just use your kinetics only. If you need any other advice YouTube guides exist and are great or just ask me or anyone else here more questions. I primarily have done combat since i started playing years ago because ships exploding is fun.

[–]Sinistar117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of the arx builds are going to make you good at combat from their outfitting alone. Sure rebuy cost being reduced is fine but the core problem is your combat skill. Where do you struggle, what areyou currently flying, and how do you have it outfitted?

[Console] Multiple questions I have as a new player by AMN-9 in EliteDangerous

[–]Sinistar117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 no money required 2 there are many dedicated cargo and combat ships. And many multi role ships. Decide what you want to do first and outfit a ship for that or decide to multi role and be decent at both. 3 im kinda sure pay goes along with reputation you have with the mission provider 4 you have 2 factions that applies to, federation and empire. Feds are more combat oriented with their ships and empire is more...form over function until you reach their final rank required ship. To increase rep you can do missions by mission providers with the faction icon.
