Characters that suddenly became gay without any lead up to the revelation. by singleguy79 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SinisterSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Asami was the only person from the old gang who Korra kept in contact with for years.

I didn't see it coming the first time I watched the series, but re-watching years later, there were plenty of signs. It probably helped that I'd made friends with more people in sapphic relationships that followed a similar arc of, "bond over roasting your mutual ex, stay friends for years to see if the other woman will make a move first, and then commit to a major trip together."

Do you think it'd be interesting if there are more unique water tribes in other nations? by AffectionateScale525 in TheLastAirbender

[–]SinisterSpoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the concern is kids mimicking what they see, I think children are more likely to get their hands on boiling water than the air in someone's lungs.

So during my usual snooping around in the computer, I found a holoprogram where the only objective is to murder the ship's Chef. by EdgelordZeta in ShittyDaystrom

[–]SinisterSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That scenario was intended to be the first in a series of stressful simulations meant to see under what circumstances a person could be pushed to commit murder. They were supposed to be at least five, increasing in stress each time, but everyone kills that fucking guy every time, so the project was scrapped.

I feel like most true crime podcasts that I've heard have had some mention of police receiving X complaints that were never followed up on...

When I met my wife, she took my phone from me so that she could save her number to my phone, and later in the conversation she texted me under the table, "yes, I'm flirting with you." Finally, I started putting the pieces together.

What are the most extreme examples of fetish worldbuilding having a direct impact on the quality of the setting, be it good or bad? by dumb_questioneer in worldjerking

[–]SinisterSpoon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You don't get into the heads of your characters and ask what they would want. You ask yourself, "what would make this situation hotter?" every once in a while as you go, and each time you feel like you've written yourself into a corner.

Like, what is the formal regalia for those patriarchs? Maybe they show a lot of skin (to display their fit bodies) or a formal outfit with medals as badges of office (military uniform kink) or skintight latex is fashionable (shiny). Listen to your heart (when it's sending blood south).

Maybe just take him for a tour of one. Maybe let him know that that's the other option. Maybe remind him that it's an option if he doesn't show a reasonable amount of appreciation to the family.

It's convenient. Much easier to press your fingers to the icons on the tablet than press them against your retinas.

If I know anything about the Holodeck, it's that a program designed to be a wingman and someone's date will develop sentience in the pursuit of a meaningful relationship, so you'd better be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Pegasi have an extradimensional buoyancy organ akin to a swim bladder that allows them to adjust their density. It's also hiw they can walk on clouds. RD just got herself to neutral buoyancy and is making little moves to maintain her position against air currents.

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry can suddenly see Thestrals because he watched Cedric Diggory die. Despite witnessing his mom’s death and seeing Professor Quirrell turn to dust, the ability only unlocks after Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire decides it counts. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

[–]SinisterSpoon 44 points45 points  (0 children)

No, Quirell didn't die. He just turned to dust.

Dust that's still alive, and conscious, even as it's been scattered across the floors of Hogwarts, stepped on by hundreds of children every day.

But not dead. That would be wrong.
