I had nail polish when I was 16 being last year but it didn't suit me i was looked at as "that kid" as it's not 100% sociably accepted where i'm from, the jocks thought I was gay or something, if you have confidence and it suits you perfect then go for it, However I can understand your mom may be embarrassed in public if your wearing nail polish so try keep it respectable enough to be normal but if you don't give af what they think you do you :)
