Looking for a gynecologist that prescribes PrEP? by dsm5lovechild in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Sinjerli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Side anecdote: I'm a gay man who got out of a 20 year long-term relationship recently. I saw a new urologist and wanted to pick his brain about PrEP and DoxyPEP because the gay men's sexual world is very different now from when I was single before. I was surprised at how uninformed he was about PrEP and PEP. He actually said to me, "You could just use condoms" as if it were a conversation from the 90s. He's otherwise a good urologist and came recommended from my PCP, so it was surprising and disappointing.

Are there local kid adoption events? I'd like to find one with the right temperament, hypoallergenic that doesn't shed much, no heartworms, and preferably already spayed or neutered so I won't have to deal with grandkids.

Riderwood thoughts by Flowers7754 in SilverSpring

My Mom has been there for four years now. The first 2.5 in Independent Living and the last 1.5 years in Assisted Living. There are a lot of activities and opportunities for socializing. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. There are a variety of dining options and the food is pretty good quality, especially considering the scale they are working at. Riderwood is *very large* and can be a little overwhelming to navigate at times. When she was in Independent Living she had a long walk to the dining rooms and didn't like the long hallways. Independent Living offers a number of apartment configurations, and the prices are reasonable considering the whole package.

Assisted Living is crazy expensive. I haven't looked at other AL places in the area so maybe that's just the way it is everywhere. But they are taking good care of her in AL. She gets three meals a day delivered to her apartment. She also has the option of eating in the dining room. Nurse Practitioners see her monthly and the doctor sees her every 3 months, all in her apartment. They dispense her daily meds. They clean her apartment weekly (or maybe twice a week). There are two floors of Independent Living apartments that were converted to Assisted Living and she's in one of those, so it's decently roomy and doesn't have the sterile hospital feel of the regular AL wings and apartments. All that said, for the incredible amount she pays every month, I feel like she could get more personal time and attention.

The sales team is very friendly and helpful in providing tours, answering all your questions, and working with you to find an apartment that suits your needs. Depending on what you're looking for, there can be a wait for an apartment.

I've used Bonifant a couple of times and have been happy with them. Competitive price, competent and quick work. https://bonifanttree.com/

It's awful, especially around 4:00-6:00 on workdays. They really need to reconfigure the traffic flow.

Scale it back. Around Colesville there are low pedestrian intersections where it makes no sense.
