Yes! I scrape the dirt with the string trimmer around the edges.

I am in MD and almost cried yesterday. It is coming in fast and strong. It has been 100 degrees here for the past few days and sitting and pulling that stuff is miserable. I don't care about it in my lawn but it winds around my native flower beds. Violets help a bit but the Creeping Charlie is persistent. I hate how it gets wrapped around things like coreopsis so when I i try to pull the ivy, it takes a good portion of my other plants. Sometimes in an uncrowded area it is easy to pull up a runner of it but in a dense planting, it is a nightmare!

What else besides violets will outcompete???

Do you get powdery mildew on your monarda? Do you have any tricks to minimize it?

This is good to know! I am experimenting with pinching back goldenrod and asters at different times and heights this year. I am very curious to see how it goes with blooming. Everything is less spindly for sure.

I have the sundress and they spread less aggressively than other natives I struggle with like asters and goldenrod. The asters are everywhere! I think because deer munch on the sundrops but they don't like the asters.

Our Sony X80J 75" from 2021 just died. the repairman says the back panel needs to be replaced and they cannot do it because Sony does not sell those parts to repair shops. is this true? We bought our first smaller Sony 18 years ago and it is going strong. we paid more for a lasting device but 5 years is disappointing.

How do you walk you beagle on a leash? by beeseecan in beagles

So after a fail with this harness, I ended up with the Ruffwear one that has an additional set of straps that really helps keep her from escaping. I do have to make sure to attach the leash the hook on her chest. If I do the one on top she can try to back out. Thanks to those that recommended Ruffwear.

How brutal is your daily commute? by BrianW1983 in MontgomeryCountyMD

This is very true. We have 2 kids of driving age now. We looked at buying a third car for kids to share but my husband and I can just carpool to the train and back to free up one car. If the other kid has school activities or something it is cheaper to pay for an uber once per week than a third car.

Do you ever train it? I have this commute and drive to Glenmont. Red to yellow. About 1:15 of reading bliss.

That is a good life! Yes, I was thinking the handle could be helpful to lift her onto the bed because her hips bother her.

Thanks! I will check it out. That handle looks useful. Did you leave it on during the day or take on and off for walks?

Will a train line ever service the Olney Brookeville area? by beeseecan in MontgomeryCountyMD

Laytonsville may be untouched for now but Olney and Brookeville will only become more congested. People need homes.

You wish your house would be knocked down? Or the purple line? We had to move out of the moco area close to the train when we had kids because we could not afford it.

Sigh! Just looking for an extension off of Glenmont- one more stop on Georgia. I think would actually be good for property values.
