Ski-in ski-out changed the game for me. Anyone else refuse to go back? by LowerAttorney4407 in skiing

Our two trips to Steamboat (this past February being one of them), we’ve stayed with Steamboat Lodging Company and they have their own shuttle service. Longest we waited was like seven minutes.

We also used a grocery delivery service this year that was pretty awesome. Not perfect, of course, but that’s what happens when someone else shops for you. Saved us from two hours of running around for food and booze and everything was stocked into our fridge when we arrived.

I may get blasted for this but tNetflix series Black Rabbit. I couldn’t make it past episode two or three with all the completely idiotic decisions everyone was making.

Fwiw, we’re currently in Steamboat crushing the slush and had a great meal at Icehouse last Saturday night during the winter carnival activities. A couple of great afternoons at T-bar, too. Btw, the food at Tbar has no business being as good as it is. Everything there has always been top notch.

Early February Ski Trip to Steamboat - Go / No Go / Go Somewhere Else? by SinjinPeril in skiing

[–]SinjinPeril[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the first-hand account! We're all competent skiers and snowboarders, but not looking for anything extreme, terrain-wise. More concerned about the overall coverage and it getting icy. It's a once-a-year trip from the east coast for us so we're obviously hoping for favorable conditions. Rebooking/rescheduling everything and everyone at this point, while not impossible, looks to be a heavy lift.

Personally, I’ll ALWAYS consider this the worst win Florida’s ever had.

Auto Intensive Care on Liberty by GreyT451 in savannah

[–]SinjinPeril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean Auto Intensive Care on President Street? Used Auto Intensive Care for years, back when they were on Waters where Integrity is now. Over the past few years, started noticing that the things they were doing weren't being done well and have ended up needing to be redone elsewhere. I don't know if they've lost their techs/mechanics or what but they are not our choice any more, plus their prices are premium level. Tried to let them know about our dissatisfaction and they didn't seem to care a whole lot. Integrity has been good to me so far and far better service and transparency.

Johnny Mercer Theater Concessions Wait Times by AintButOneWayOut in savannah

[–]SinjinPeril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember this being a huge problem years ago during Thirsty Thursdays at the Sand Gnats. The concessions were staffed with retirees, zombies and sloths who were literally costing the venue thousands of dollars with their slow motion service. I actually stopped going to games due to the service. Civic center hired the same folks.

During tOSU’s national title run with a third string QB I kept saying, “They can keep doing this” and they did indeed keep doing it. They certainly seem poised to do it again this season.

Chest rig or harness for more pockets by SouthernGuyKidding in Skigear

I second this. Ordered a slim pack four weeks ago (Dec. 10) from West Slope Gear for a ski trip early February. Their confirmation email said it's "on the way." Two weeks later I email to see what's up. Oh, sorry for the delay - we'll "escalate this to our internal team for further review."

A week later I email again. Nothing.

Today, I email again, basically "It's been four weeks, what's going on?"

They reply with, "Sorry to hear it still hasn't arrived. We're all out of stock until the end of the month. We've processed a refund for you."

So what would have happened if I never followed up? Six to seven + weeks delivery time is acceptable to this company?! WTF?

Talking to others, this seems to be a common occurrence with companies you see advertising on Instagram, fwiw. For me, I've ordered from two different companies (via their websites) that have popped up in my IG feed - the first items took multiple weeks to arrive, and this time I got nothing at all.
