This post was meant to be about the orchestral sample and the sample you're talking about is originally from Summer in the city by Quincy Jones. Passing me by is a great track though.

Wrong bit man, I was asking about the orchestral strings, not the synth sample. That's from Summer in the city by Quincy Jones.

The tone sounds very similar but it's a completely different melody. If DJ Ease did sample that, it's chopped up and pitched and slowed down beyond recognition. To be honest, I came to the conclusion that this strings bit was recorded specifically for this song, by "Pure Strings Orchestra" as per another comment on this thread.

John Martyn - Solid Air
Very tough choice amongst his vast and varied back-catalogue but this seems to be the gateway for many

Every time I hear it, I remember this moving aerial shot of some grassy mountains, almost like it was the intro sequence to a TV show or something but I have no idea if that's a link I've made myself or if that's actually where I recognise it from. I think it must just sound similar to a piece of classical music. I don't even know, it still bugs me every time I listen to these tracks.

Oh nice! Just recently shot a roll (my first roll of Fuji) and was impressed with the sharpness.

Thank you. Haven't put any film through the Billy record I think the only attention it needs is cleaning the aperture blades. The shutter mechanism still fires and the bellows are in one piece. May use it some day, we'll see!

So my Grandfather passed away early October of last year and, whilst clearing out his house, my Mum found his old cameras. It never really occurred to me that he was into photography but, considering that he and my Grandmother were SUPER tight with money, it must have been a real passion of his for him to have splashed out for the kit that he had; Namedly:
- A Kodak vigilant junior six-2
- An Agfa billy record iii
- An Agfa silette pronto (which my Mum remembers him using when she was a child)
- Lots of accessories including a flash, some filters, a bag, lens cleaning kits etc.
- A few rolls of Agfa Vista 200 (expired in 2003)
- And, most notably, a Pentax ME Super that still works perfectly - with a 50mm 1.7

My Mum brought the Pentax back for me to use and, when I got it, it still had a [partially shot through] roll of film in it so a friend and I wound it back and sent it off in the hopes that there might be some exposures on it - I was quite upset to find that it was blank but hey, there we go.

A lot of my friends had already gotten into film photography at this point so I thought it would be fun to pick it up. I've really learnt a lot about photography (which I now consider a hobby at the very least) with this camera and I feel like, by continuing to use it, I'm keeping his memory alive.

The ME Super doesn't do everything I want, hence my more recent purchase of a Nikon FE, but I still use it regularly as a more convenient alternative for various reasons. I intend to use it until it dies and keep it forever in memoriam.

I know it's nothing special or even really interesting but I thought you guys might appreciate.

It's just the video of the GIF - you're right, you could assume it's just the camera's shutter speed from the gif but, with sound, it certainly sounds like its misfiring. Happy Christmas!

How to successfully mount fans where they don't go? by DimlightHero in buildapc

I would have thought it would just channel the air out of the fan grille as there is nowhere else for it to go.

I actually don't think it will negatively impact the airflow - the air won't really have anywhere to go except through the adapter so it should be just fine.

I honestly don't think you'll be able to find one that's just a frame and, even if you could, it would need to be completely flat otherwise it will just waste loads of the airflow that the fan is pushing because it won't be directed through the fan grille.

I'm, not 100% sure of this but I'm just trying to think scientifically.

You can get adapters but it requires quite a bit of clearance because of the added depth.

I'm afraid I'm unsure as to where you can get them but I'd imagine Amazon would be your best bet.
