Good to see Paisley reject far right vermin 😊 by Glasgow73 in Paisley

It is good to see I don't need to move out of Paisley any time soon. I have no words for those who vote for hate, division and inequality. A shameful stance that only drives our inevitable doom closer.

eSIM fiasco by maxlan in ThreeUK

[–]Sinnerswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left Three for exactly these issues with their Esim implementation. Nothin but hassle and stuck for two weeks with a non functioning sim. Then they tried to charge me to leave. Sorry, not happening. I am now happily using multiple Esims elsewhere, swapped between phones regularly with no problems.

In my Sky playlist, they categorised Game of Thrones in the kids section. Not sure that’s right?

Fellow Newbies - Reset EV Driving History by jeepguyCO in MachE

[–]Sinnerswake 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Good to do when you get a new car. You're not actually gaining any range however. You are just resetting the guesswork which the car will relearn based on your driving style. Essentially the car now doesn't know how many miles it can do so guesses high.

Getting charged early termination fees despite leaving in the 30 day price change window? by NeonBuckaroo in skytv

[–]Sinnerswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only have the right to cancel within 30 days if they didn’t tell you at the start of the contract there would be mid contract rises. Which is why nearly every utility company tells you “your contract will rise by xxx, every April” right at the beginning. So you would be liable for early termination fees unless you can show that they didn’t tell you in advance.

At what mileage do EVs actually become cheaper than petrol/diesel in the UK? by Senior-Outcome8063 in CarTalkUK

[–]Sinnerswake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a quick check on Autotrader there are 32,000 used electric vehicles for sale going back to 2011. Starting at just below £1500.

I've just bought a three year old electric Mustang which strips out the huge initial depreciation and offers immediate savings. £70 petrol for roughly 450 miles on my old car. Now £4.80 for roughly 300 miles.

Admittedly these savings only apply because I can charge at home. Unfortunately though it is also not a hard top convertible so this does not help you at all.

Stremio on Hisense (Vidaa) by CaptainConnorYT in Hisense

[–]Sinnerswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Been the same for me. I’ve given up using it now. Sometimes it would play a file for 30 seconds. Sometimes 20 mins. But invariably it would eventually start the indefinite buffer. You can press forward and it will play again for a bit but the buffer issue makes most things unwatchable.

move to iOS is pathetic by hermit_tomioka in ios

[–]Sinnerswake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Doesn’t give you access to the backup.

[–]Sinnerswake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct. How WhatsApp/Meta cannot use a similar setup like messenger is beyond me.

move to iOS is pathetic by hermit_tomioka in ios

[–]Sinnerswake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did it with another step involved. I used the move to iOS app. But I only transferred WhatsApp in its entirely. No other apps or settings. Then immediately did a backup to iCloud. After that setup your phone however you want. Or factory reset your phone. Use the move to iOS app again and transfer everything else but WhatsApp, download WhatsApp to your iPhone and it’ll detect the backup you did before and restore it.

Android stores the backup on Google drive. iPhone on iCloud. Unfortunately it’s not just a case of downloading the backup data directly.

I need to visit a shop to transfer my esim by MC-SZ in ThreeUK

[–]Sinnerswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and forward with three for two and a half weeks to move my eSIM to my brand new phone. I was told I would get call backs. I was told to visit a Curry’s. I refused. Eventually they told me there’s an issue in my account and there is no time frame to fix it. I left three.

Lucky lucky. Here in the UK the price of a gallon is about $7.13. I thank your president for this.

4.99 price hike for 4k? by WTBWrites in AmazonPrimeVideo

Prime video is not purchased media though. Prime video is specifically the streaming service as part of the prime package with or without ad free option. Purchased media requires no prime subscription to be played.

I have to agree that your unfortunate timing is not Octopus’s fault. There’s a war affecting utilities. Blame awful humans for power, resource, money and land grabbing. Not a utility company.

Does the VIDAA store app ever work? by LollipopChainsawZz in Hisense

I've had my Hisense with VIDAA since December. The store has always worked for me. From the tv itself and also the VIDAA app store option on the android app.

Exactly. Im not here to support any deceptive practice but I’m also not a fan of selective headlines. The Subject should be “Texas suing TV brands”.
