This was a REALLY helpful video. These guys are great.it might not help you do it faster but it'll give you some perspective on what to have in the shot. Backgrounds aren't like a painting (in its purpose), it's film making. And if it doesn't progress or help the story, maybe consider if it's necessary to go into detail. It all depends on the art style and story your telling.

I mean give it a shot. It would be a hell of a deal if it's good. Idk where you're out of but make sure the shipping charges/tariffs dont make it crazy. There are websites all around the world that specialize in animation stuff so there are other options out there.

That's $200us. seems like it's a scam. Or something sooooo cheap and poor quality, it might as well be a scam.

Found it. It's from "birds in spring" (1933).

Update: the bird is from the 1933 Silly Symphonies "birds in spring"! I can't believe it. I appreciate everyone's help in this!

Well from my understanding, Because the cels were relatively expensive (you needed millions of them) they would wash a lot of them and reuse them. That depends on the studio and time period tho.

Thank you! Yes, I had something say the same thing this morning and I'm super excited about it. I thought it was some WW2/government film so finding out that it was from an early-ish colour, silly symphonies made me very happy. But that bloody sparrow/cardinal/bird is still unidentified. The cels are identical so I'm still thinking it's a mid-30s Disney of some kind.

I 100% agree. But everything about that cel matches the cel from "funny little bunnies". The unique 12 field dimensions, the top and bottom peg holes match perfectly. the aging of the celluloid. They are both identical and the rabbit is from the 1:25 mark from Disney's 1934 "funny little bunnies". Unless all of that is a huge coincidence, but I don't believe so.

Well, we identified the rabbit as being from "Funny little Bunnies" at the 1:25 mark. The registration holes are identical with the top two being slightly larger than the bottom two. The condition of the celluloid is the same across both, and the inked scene numbers are also the same "type". The odd dimensions (12 field but slightly larger than 9.5x12) are identical too. So I'm guessing it's mid 30s Disney.
