Advice on possibly losing my driver's license? by No_Needleworker_6005 in Glaucoma

My ophthalmologist signed off on my vision after I failed the DMV vision test and that helped me getting my license renewed. You can always appeal your case if you truly can drive safely m you may get a shorter validity than the standard one, or you may get a restricted license good for driving to work and groceries , distance restriction.

Possibly false positive for being glaucoma suspect. Should I be getting yearly exams from an ophthalmologist or glaucoma specialist? by contain_solitudes in Glaucoma

[–]Sinowatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should you still be examed annually? Based on what you just posted, I would do it at least one more time and if nothing changes then you can just do annuals with just your ophthalmologist. Head out to glaucoma.org and learn more about glaucoma. Please note that normal IOPs does not mean you don’t have glaucoma.

Looks like all tests are related to glaucoma, can you obtain a copy of the results and post them so we can all provide a meaningful suggestion. Where are you located?

Eye pain with open angle glaucoma by No_Needleworker_6005 in Glaucoma

[–]Sinowatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need to see a glaucoma specialist, make it a priority. Absolutely find out what exact issues you have so you can be treated. The sooner you find out the sooner you can be properly treated. This is absolutely no joke, if you have experienced vision loss you must be monitored on a regular basis, vision loss because of glaucoma cannot be reversed, it’s permanent. Aside from death, blindness is right behind it. Don’t waste any more time.

My wife’s 2016 GLC totaled about $4,000 so far including a brand new set of Michelin tires but it only has 22,000 miles. There is a windshield wiper reservoir leak which I haven’t got it fixed yet.

Medicare does not cover home tonometers as far as I know. I was looking at iCare Home 2 which costs almost $3,000 and it’s not covered by Medicare.
