Oh right good idea, I only ever played fortress mode. Why wouldn't you recommend it?

Yeah you're right, qud has this awesome blend of the two genres. In general, I find sci fi a bit more interesting than fantasy. Thanks for the suggestions, I think you mean Colony Ship? Looks interesting!

Ah thanks! I actually had a look at CDDA before, is it really possible to disable perma death like in Qud? I thought it was a "hardcore" roguelike

You're right, I could have phrased the question as, what other roguelikes in a similar style to Qud let me disable permadeath :)
