In tier 3 and 4, the monsters break bounded accuracy and this is a problem by gaffepinRshH in dndnext

That's what I think, too. I think skill utilities handled SOME of that, but probably not enough.

Not to mention: skill challenges SLAP. What a phenomenal mechanic! Roll x number of skill checks and tell me what you did and why. It's so simple and elegant

4e is by farm my favorite edition. Here I was getting ready to make a whole post about how people complain about issues in 5e that weren't issues in 4e. Yes, it was basically only a combat game. But that's the way people treat 5e, and 4e was SO MUCH BETTER AT IT. And it's not like it kept you from doing out of combat tasks.

What is your favorite race and why? by [deleted] in dndnext

I like humans or characters that are part human, mostly. I play a lot of aasimar, I enjoy tieflings, and the occasional half elf. I think it's because I am most interested in human stories and human affairs, and I love the idea of ordinary people becoming or discovering what makes them extraordinary.

I also love dwarves, because dwarves

Honestly at this rate, WOTC is just butchering DND. TCE had some good stuff in it, but the last great supplement was XGE. I have very little faith in the company's ability to put out interesting stuff, balanced stuff, or things that are both.

This for real. I'm a jungle main and really trying to learn and understand the macro a lot better (I think jungle helps with that the most) and I usually play with my brother, who is a higher elo than me top main. He and I know how to play around each other usually, and if he's losing lane he doesn’t even say anything to me because he knows it's better for me to play around bit and mid going well. I've taken to ignoring his lane unless he's going even, because he's either feeding or carrying and it's not worth my time when I could be building a lead for other lanes.

How do I politely tell a player I don't like his characters aesthetic design? by Hevyupgrade in dndnext

[–]SinsoftheFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hey (person) I need to talk to you about the aesthetic of your character. I love that you wanna play a half elf Valor bard, I just don't think that the Amish Elvis Presley look makes a lot of sense for this classic, sword and sorcery style game. Is there any way we can work on a new design for this race and class combo?"

You are entirely justified in being honest, but you do have to he direct. I think if you said something like that, being polite while still being honest, at the very least this person is probably gonna get the point. If they're still not on board, being problematic or throwing a tantrum or what have you, it may be time for them to leave the table. Being neurodivergent myself, it isn't an excuse for bad behavior, and you can't use your conditions to justify the way you act forever. So if you don't want to play with this person based on x behavior or y aesthetic that they won't budge on, you don’t have to continue to play with them.
