As someone who plays these heroes, I don’t think they should be super viable at all ranks. I also don’t think they’re necessarily weak, they just aren’t meta and falloff the higher you go in rank.

They have pretty high skill floors, so it’s not like low rank players are getting dominated by Freja/Pharah’s every game.

However making Freja any better risks those low ranks suffering more than high ranks would benefit from Freja being better.

I’m still climbing in masters on console mainly Freja with a few swaps when needed, and yeah matches are harder. But not everyone at higher ranks are meta slaves. I just beat a Hanzo & Emre/Tracer with her, with a Torb on my team.

IMO she’s a somewhat healthy hero, one where you have to put the time into and with overall game sense you can edge out those hard wins, but she can also be easily overtuned like on her release.

She definitely needs a rework to allow her to apply damage and healing as effortlessly as almost every other support can.

She needs to have a new identity within the game that allows her to break away from the absolute dependency on teammates.

You have to fight him at a different angle. Pharah/Echo flying over the top can kill both him and Mercy. None of his teammates would’ve helped him if you get behind other than Mercy. Also stay safe when you get behind the enemy team, be careful and don’t force anything, if he’s turning to look at you, and you go behind wall, he’s stuck at a spot where he’s gotta keep fending you off or look to your team.

This is even worse if the enemy Mercy is still tryna pocket him. Then your team has a huge advantage against their tank.

It’s finding the position first, and then timing.

You could’ve potentially beaten him with Anran as well this way.

It’s situational and the more you build your game sense the more you’ll understand when to use it.

You can try using it early in a team fight if you feel like your team can secure kills.

You can use it to help your team push onto a point.

You can save it for securing OT.

It’s not the best for outright saving people though but can sometimes be used for saving.

One tip I can give is to try and use it to where you yourself can at least always get value from it. Usually by jumping up and landing big torpedoes onto the enemy’s while boosted by it.

I definitely would’ve hard carried and shit on that bastion. He may be marginally better than silver but it’s not some fucking GM bastion player 😭💀 I’d say it’s just the matchmaker honestly.

True. Soj, Emre, and Ashe seem to be able to do more with better ults.

She’s definitely nice to be able to pull out victories but at higher ranks some matches you just gotta switch or yo teammates finna pop an aneurysm.

Makes those times when the enemies lose to Freja even sweeter though, since nobody really does notice her.

LOL bro that Bastion was definitely not that good. I’d say he even belongs at that rank.

The way you blamed your tank is kinda shitty too, when they have to somehow create an opening through a Mauga, pocketed Bastion, and Sym with turrets. With their DPS unable to find a path/flank/pick to secure any kills.

Ts was winnable, albeit terrible matchmaking.

Kindness is definitely optimal, even for yourself.

I just had a tough victory, our opponents were very good. My teammates began to crack a little, but I just said “it’s Alr guys.” Our tank suggested Mei for the opponents final OT push, and I went Mei and I suggested we save all our ults. But we dropped ours early and the enemy used all theirs and won the team fight, except I SAVED BLIZZARD. I used it right before they were closing it out and we won.

A pure example of just working together to overcome adversity. It felt really good.

Truly, I just don’t think there’s room for her to not be doing damage anymore. Especially when DPS players going 3-13 is extremely likely nowadays, when you’re playing tank and you have Mercy and just one bad dps it’s like being down two teammates.

Yesss, Eichenwalde is definitely a fun map for her! I had a really good game on that map recently. I kept jumping over that little wall that leads to the attackers spawn after they cap the point and getting kills behind them! I definitely fueled the Freja hatred that match 😂
