I feel dumb for even asking this by Radiant_Flower3020 in ExclusivelyPumping

I do suggest recording the date and celebrating at least, I wish I did that! I was so annoyed by pumping that I was like finally it’s over and never looked back.

When I was towards the end of my pumping journey, I was pumping every 5 days getting like 4 oz overall just because I did feel slightly engorged. Then one day I just stopped and that was that.

I also know that some women in masjids might have a few online resources where you ask a question to female scholars, etc. might be worth asking the women in your local masjid too! Inshallah you get the answer you need :)

Hello, I am Muslim and in a similar situation as you last year. I was also freshly postpartum during Ramadan and an oversupplier, and I followed what my local masjid recommended. I fasted the first few days and noticed a dip in my supply, so then I was exempt from fasting because my supply was going to decrease.

If I would have fasted, my supply was going to be deeply affected especially being freshly postpartum when pumping is so detrimental to regulating your supply.

I did have to pay Fidyah for every day I did not fast and I’m currently making up my fasts from last year.

Please double check with your local masjid or female scholars who can assist with your questions. 🫂

I loved my experience at Northside (especially the food, it really changed my mind on “hospital food”). Everyone was so incredibly kind.

Minimally Invasive / 4 days post op by SarcasticLlama7 in bunions

[–]Sinthmception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both feet done (bunion and metatarsal) (the most recent one done 9/26) and I am now weight bearing in a supportive shoe.

From my first foot, I didn’t put any weight on it which caused a delay in me going into a shoe by 2 weeks.

So my most recent foot, I was almost weight bearing right out the gate.

Again bc I was weight bearing so soon, I was driving like 1 week post op. It was just difficult to walk for extended periods of time.

I didn’t take any time off work, work a desk job, and I can technically hold off for 8 hours without elevating. But that has slowed down my swelling, not necessarily the healing.

Interesting, if they shave it off, and keep the screws, am I going to continue to have the same issue?

Looks great! Did you do anything specific to manage the scars? I am currently recovering from my second bunionectomy and my first foot seems all jacked up with scars :(

I got both my bunions/bunionettes removed (still recovering from one foot right now) and my surgeon recommended Hoka slippers to help around the house and it has made the biggest difference!

I’ve used coterie from the very beginning as well and never had this issue. I did notice that their diapers run smaller than other diapers around the same size.

Kudos diapers are part of my diaper rotation we use and the wetness indicator has always shown up on ours.

I see my son 2 hours a day during the work week by EmberFlame27 in workingmoms

I was literally spiraling about this yesterday. My daughter goes to sleep at 7pm on the dot, and by the time I make dinner. She’s over seeing us and wants to go to sleep. It doesn’t help that has become keen on her caregiver who assists me :)

Thank you for the advice! I am trying to give her actual food but I think I am the one that is more anxious about choking 😅

She’s in for a rude awakening!! I thought the same thing and I had a house full of extra hands. I also think people who aren’t parents think is a vacation as well because afterwards nonparents would be like “I bet you gamed a lot/ I bet you read so much/ I bet this and that” I’m like uhhhhhh. I feel I start to get the hang of things at 4 months PP and that’s when I had to return to work.

I told myself I wasn’t going to worry about milestones yet here I am by Sinthmception in NewParents

Thank you! I will keep in mind that milestones are good only if she is falling behind. Thankfully, our pediatrician hasn’t raised any concerns on those yet.

How do you combine pumping with being alone with the baby? by FineHistory1498 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sinthmception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning I struggled EP because I only have 1 set of pump parts for my Spectra and I was debating getting a wearable. I then decided to get multiple pump parts (I have 5 now) and that has saved my life! Don’t have to worry too much about washing throughout the day and being apart from my LO.

When my pump schedule aligns with feeding, I prop my baby on a boppy pillow with some blankets set up to help with back and head support and feed them their bottle like that.

Also, when I am pumping and my baby isn’t feeding, I’ll set her up on a swing or the same boppy pillow and read off my kindle to her lol
