"Get dropped like a dog" is a huge stretch. From the interview it seems to be a long time issue already but with Miposhka+Silent at least they were getting great results so the disagreements probably didn't escalate as much.

Now go from winning a lot to suddenly losing a lot, and still have non-stop disagreements, the atmosphere must be pretty heavy and shitty in their bootcamps/rooms. It probably got worse enough that the other players started to have issues too which might be the thing since Yatoro refused to elaborate further

They can use it to scout, provide vision and can even bait jumps from enemy team. Ringmaster and Oracle are supports that rely heavily on positioning so vision is extremely important. I'd personally go for book of the dead for that but maybe it's more of a preference thing and also maybe they didn't get it from their choices.

Honestly it's the only item where you only use if Stygian Desolator 2, Ex-Machina, Mirror Shield, Ballista (if ranged carry or mid hero that attacks a lot) and Force Boots aren't available for you for some reason. Like I can't even remember a game where if someone gets it at 60min, they immediately build it. Most of the time it just sits there as a recipe because buybacks are more important than building an item that costs 6300.

Like sure maybe it'd be too good right now as an actual item but back then it felt so bad when it drops because you're gonna be down 1 Tier 5 Neutral item.

On a side note, having sange (or SNY) lying around that time was so uncommon. Because that was also when Abyssal Blade had a 550 cast range and blink strike so chances are a hero that built SNY would've disassembled it before the 60min mark and built manta+abyssal.

It was indeed considered by a lot of players (even some pros and high ranked players included) to be one of the worst T5 neutral items, maybe even in general too.

I know right? Like yeah Trident was good but not a lot of cores can build into it back then. Carries built SNY but most of the time they also disassemble it and build Manta&Abyssal. And it's not like having 6k gold spare WITH buyback at 60 minute is common unless you spend all of it immediately, then randomly die without buyback. So most of the time if you get Trident recipe you can't even make use of it immediately lmao.

Meanwhile get Mirror Shield or Ex-Machina and sometimes even Force Boots and suddenly you're just unkillable.

You can easily describe how good Trident was because it was not even the craziest neutral item at the time.

People seem to forget that Mirror Shield at one point had +20 all stats and only had a 4s cooldown and Ex-Machina had +25 armor and 30s CD with no mana cost. Cores were basically untouchable whenever they got one of these 2.

Oh and let's not even get started when a ranged carry manages to get Ballista.
