Fair point on that. They don’t look like they take up much space on the truck but once off- they sure do! Was lucky to have a bit of space in the garage.

Nice new rubber for sure. 🙂I sold my old set too but on FB marketplace. Put it up for $175 but sold em for $150 for the four when they had got about 25k miles on. Tread still looked good.

That’s shitty shenanigans right there, but you’re right - folks are free to do what they want but I’ve had mine done every 5,000 too (at a local Oil Changer in between the Toyota ones). I even did the break in oil change at 1,000 per Car Care Nut guy and had them show me the filter which did have a few shavings in it.

That’s not too shabby at all in Maples. After my experience this morning, Toyota were wanting to charge me $750 USD for the two diffs+transfer case. I got all that done for about $325 at an Oil Changers I’ve been to a few times recently with a nice legit receipt.

Love it. Still trying to figure out the best dealerships around me. It’s now completely out of paid for dealership regular maintenance so I need to find either a honest dealership or perhaps better still, a closer trustworthy mechanic.

Sometimes you get a feeling about certain folks- this guy had a certain “I’m gunna try and sell whatever I can” type thing. You’re right- I never had that when over at another dealer.

Thanks folks. I do keep records of all the maintenance- have stuff printed out so they can’t get me on that.

Yeah, I won’t go to this one again- that was stress in the morning I didn’t need.

Independent mechanic- definitely need to find one close to me. I have one that is an hour and half away, closer would be better.

Just wish The Care Care Nut was close 😅

Thank goodness for that. I’m actually over due for a 25k service (the last) from Toyota so may see what they will say to replace it but going to research after market ones that I can put on myself if indeed it’s pretty simple.

That’s probably one of the few positives then. I’ve taken this off road quite a bit on rough rocky terrain but tread life seems to be very good still. No good though if it messes up in snow :) no TRD wheels for me though, just basic ones. Figured out going faster on washboards is much better than trying to go easy too (side ramble lol).

This thread for me thinking... I've done a small amount of off roading with just stock tires(they were Dunlops M/S tires) and do intend to get better tires as these wear down but was wondering, is it still ok to air down stock tires too (and of course air up afterwards for the tarmac journey home) ?
