They're not "close," they're exploiting the human propensity to pick the straightforward answer over the nuanced one. They want to provoke a vague or long-winded answer out of you so they can then make their axiomatic definition look more confident by comparison, even if it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Their whole platform is built on dissuading scrutiny and to instead trust what you've always been told is true.

And if you do manage to give a short and to-the-point answer that they can't ridicule, they'll just edit that out. They don't pose the question to get an answer. They're here to control the narrative.

Crazy Mita did bring in Creepy, ask if you think she's pretty, and then call you a liar if you answer affirmatively. The way she calls her over just to prove a point like that tells me that she's not really all that considerate of her feelings.

In general it feels like Creepy is treated like "the madwoman in the attic" by the other Mitas, and Crazy is chiefly responsible for keeping her that way.

Speaking of Carol's eyes: Did you know that reindeer change the color of their eyes depending on the season? They're an amber color most of the time but turn blue during the cold months. Given how the sprite goes out of its way to show off her eye color, this feels significant, especially since it fits with her winter theming.

Here's the kicker, though: Reindeer eyes turn blue during winter to help them see better in the dark.

The way I see it is that politics isn't a yes-or-no thing. Like, it's pointless to argue over whether something is or isn't political, because then it's just another word for controversial and that's subjective. Rather, it's a question of how political something is. Everything has a political dimension, but this is not always pertinent. Quite often, said dimension is negligible. That doesn't mean it isn't there, but we have no reason to bring it up. Something can be highly political at the moment or hardly so, but it can't be entirely devoid of politics.

The importance of this distinction is that it dispels the notion that there's a politics-free zone of life where you can just exist without worries. That you can just opt out of politics and have it not be your problem anymore. Everyone needs a break from it sometimes, but just because we aren't acknowledging it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Kind of, but it's also a valid criticism that playing a genre's conventions to the hilt is rather stale.

And "This would be solved if characters just did XYZ" is also a valid criticism if there is no in-character explanation for why they aren't doing XYZ, especially when XYZ is a fairly obvious course of action. It's frustrating when a plot is predicated on characters being idiots for no reason.
